Shadetree top question

I've looked at some other related stuff on here bout some problems and fixes for issues with the joystick and top movement.
I went out today and shot a few round downrange.
I started noticing that joysticks worked smoothly vertically but horizontally it had some play before it would actually move.
Does this need adjustments to the tension screws?
Figured I would ask here before calling Butch or sending it in.

I’ve been using my Shadetree top for a good 6-7 years now. I havn’t experienced the same issue you are having but here are my thoughts on this.
As far as the tension goes, I use just enough to hold the weight of the gun so it doesn’t drift down if I take my hand off it. If you are having side to side issues it may be that the tension screws are out of balance with each other. When making adjustments keep them very small and do the same amount on each side.

Good rest top for the price. I find most issues are due to misadjustment. Not just on these but same with Seb and Farleys. They take a little bit of fooling with and are pretty touchy to adjust. His replacement screws help in that regard.

Call Butch Lambert. He will make it right. Tommy
