Primers at Academy today

Saw a good amount of ammo at Academy but also primers! Large and small CCI rifle and magnum pistol primers at 8 bucks a hundred. Not the type I need but with no hazmat seems like a good but not a great price.

Wondering if I should get a stash of them for trading later. I may show up in the mornings to see if standard large and small pistol primers are showing up but selling out quickly.

Missed a gun show this past weekend so don't know about primers there. There's another one next week, I'll go and see what they're scalping... how much they're selling them for.

Heck I’d love to have some small pistol primers.

CCI has been cranking out the primers. We got a bunch here in AZ from sportsmans warehouse, but the Rifle primers are very peculiar. 400s and Magnums (41s) yield high pressure (swipes and blown primers) on loads I reduced from my usual formulas.

We've been trying to dial them in for weeks, but finally got sick of roasting brass.

I actually wish we'd passed on these things.
