Gold/Silver members vs non paid members

Just curious ? Classifieds ?

Are you willing to more often 'make a deal' with paid members vs non paid members ?

I've been a Silver member for years...... have sold a fair amount of stuff in our ads

So this year went 'Gold' for $50 which I think is fair if you use the ads to any extent

Your thoughts ??

Pics are easy to post too.......Living in Utah kool pics are around every corner :)

I think it's a good idea to support this site financially, if you can.
I've bought and sold a fair amount here. Feedback is useful and a gold member is likely reliable.
Nice pic in Utah!
Today's hike in Idaho. Railroad Ridge.

I have been a member for a long time. Always leave feedback for a transaction for the member, but I would like them to leave feedback on me also. Several times that has not happened in last few months and i ask them to leave feedback for me which they did not do!! Suppose everyone is so busy!!!!
I've only been a member since 2018 but see and do the same as you. I go out of my way to keep seller posted, even provide a pic of my check and SASE envelope minutes before it goes in the mail. Even so, some sellers still don't leave feedback.

As to who should leave feedback first? IMHO, the seller should upon receipt of payment. Why? Because the buyer has fulfilled their part of the transaction. As a buyer, I don't leave feedback until the item I've purchased has been received and inspected, at which time I promptly log in and praise the seller. ;)

I do feel better dealing with silver/gold members myself. I just joined in 2019 but was a long time lurker and feel like membership dues are well worth it considering all the help and good deals I’ve had on here.BTW Leaving feedback is one of the first things I do after receiving product or getting paid and can only think of one time that I had left some and the other person didnt do the same still dont know why they didn’t…..

Having run my own forum in the past, I have an idea of the time and cost that Forum Boss puts into this place. Happy to maintain my membership status as it's the only firearm related forum I know that's low on political BS and high on knowledge and expertise. For me personally, if I sell something and the buyer is a Silver/Gold member with good transaction history, I'm shipping with or without payment received. Haven't been burned yet. If it's someone who hasn't paid for memberships and has limited feedback, I ship when the check clears. I feel I get treated similarly from the sellers I've transacted with here and I appreciate their willingness to work with me. This is THEE forum I come to when I want to advice and feedback on anything from powder to barrels and everything in between.

Just remember to bow in the presence of gold/silver members. :p

I don't give credibility or special recognition to Gold/Silver badges simply because. Length of time on here, reputation, and trader history go a lot further with whom I do business with. I would guess there are members here since the beginning who have paid more in membership dues than I have - that no longer do.

If you have a Gold badge and no trader history I would wait until you do unless it is for a lower dollar item.

People earn a name here by their reputation just like they do in person. Even if they are "quite the character" you know who you should do business with and who to stay away from.
Varget ate my money

Ain’t that the truth!
I’m worried about brass prices now with those new prices that Bruno’s is posting for Lapua!
Off topic but relative....
Scrappy the guy that picks up the sheet metal and aluminum at work tells us the price of scrap is down.
We go through a metric shit ton of aluminum parts working on recycled beer cans the call Ford.

I’ve sold and bought quite a bit here. Gold and silver memberships bring peace of mind for me and it’s speaks volumes too. All the effort that goes into this site on a weekly basis certainly deserves a membership of some kind. The bulletin, deals of the weeks, Sunday gun day, dealing with the recent wave of fraud.... someone has to deal with that and it doesn’t happen for free. When I sell I trust gold and silver members and will take a personal check or often times ship before payment arrives if I know them, not so much for those using the forum with no membership. To each their own but that gold or silver tag means you value the content here, the management and that your willing to give back a bit.

Forum Boss: Thank you for noting the effort. At age 66, I work 3300+ hours per year on the site. With industry changes, Membership revenues must be increased to keep doing what we're doing.

Seller. As soon as hes paid. Thatvpart of the transaction is over. What else could he be waiting for? The guy paid thats his last responsibility and when thats done its out of his hands
I don't always go back and read a topic from the beginning and because I didn't with this one I missed your comment which I essentially repeated later. Glad we're on the same page. ;)

Ok, If I advertise scarce bullets for sale, three guys say they will take it.

Gold member may get preference, especially if they want to pay by check.

Not for me. Sometimes you need to resolve an issue. How both parties handle issues matters for feedback. I'm not leaving feedback until the whole thing is done.

I accidentally shipped out a broken part, a KMW pod-loc + Harris BRM-S. I was able to confirm with my pre-boxing pictures that he was correct, it didn't break in transit (broken part wasn't in the box or ziploc bag). He was not trying to screw with me after he had the bipod in-hand. I just didn't notice it, it was 100% my fault.

I offered multiple resolution options; I was going to make him whole. In the end, I drop shipped him the part from KMW, and everyone was happy. If he was a dick about it, feedback would have noted it.

Being a Gold/Silver member doesn’t make any of us more important than anyone else it does have some perks ,buying/selling, that some may have little interest in BUT you can’t deny that the Forum has replaced magazines for rifle/competition information AND you can ask for information on specific questions you have and get immediate feedback from several people for you to ponder. Ask yourself what magazine or better yet what subscription has done that for you and the price!
When it comes to trust I would say your feedback means the most to me AND then the fact that you are a member supporting the Forum. Both of those , I’ve found have EARNED my trust and generally ,we make a deal the $/item is sent out immediately . In over 400+ transactions I have only ONCE had to involve the Boss to resolve an issue. You’re dealing with your reputation and what value you place on it and out of 64,000 members we have very few crooks and they don’t last very long between the type of people on this and the Forum Boss ! Now ask if it is worth $25-$50 a year and the hell with the perks to make your choice. I hope that I have given fence sitters a reason to join and continue being a member. You are needed, and we need each other for this to continue. The epistle is over !!!
