Need help deciding on action for Dasher build

NC/Br Shooter

Im in the market to build another gun. Iv got it narrowed down to the Bat ignighter, or the TL3. Those two because of cost and avaibility now. And , I have several stocks for the 700, and several trigger tech's, i could use.
Iv read what I can on here about both, and Im still undecided. Any, advise and general comments welcome. I just need help deciding. Thanks

My vote is for the TL3. I own two short actions and one long action TL3's.
  • I can order shouldered Pre-fit barrels without having to send my action to a gunsmith
  • Small shank SavageNut barrels also work on the TL3 action
  • Multiple Bolt faces are available for purchase and easily installed
  • Multiple bolt handles are available for purchase and easily installed
  • Trigger pin can be removed / serviced without any tools

So if I have triggers from my other remington 700s, I can use them if i want?
The single shot versions, are they a solid bottom? Thanks for the response

They are both great choices. I looked at the 2020 Nat'l Finals 600 & 1000 yards.. Light Gun & Heavy Gun. The Dasher won and There were more BAT Actions in the Top 50 ..Thats pretty good company and odds. Kreiger Barrels also had the biggest Count.
I justb went through the same dilema but went with Stiller because I caught a deal too goood to pass up or I would have went with BAT & Left Hand Bartlein Gain Twist barrel.

Yes, the TL3 uses the Remington 700 style trigger.
Yes, the single shot version of the TL3 is a solid bottom. Two of my TL3's are single shots. Northland Shooter Supply should have them in stock.

What’s the discipline you’re are wanting to use this action for? I don’t know much about the Igniters but I’m thinking they have Bats newly designed bolt that lets you swap heads. If that’s true, then the Igniter can do anything the TL3 can do only better. If you are talking about using this for competition benchrest, a TL3 is not going to be competitive. The Bat “lettered” actions would be the best choice BUT they don’t fit a 700 inlet stock. If it’s just for a fun gun you shoot from the bench or a PRS type setup, then either should be fine.

This is what I was wanting to know, I got several quarter minute 700s, Im wanting to build the best midrange rig I can,
I kinda had my doubts about TL3, I guess the Bat would be most durable, I read its got the harder steel with the finish.
