Is this Lapua brass and what weight bullet ? 29 grains is Hodgdon max load for the 107 gr. class bullets.Throwing together some FF loads tonight using Varget. Have read through all 35 pages on this thread. Looks like people have fireformed with anywhere from 29-31g of Varget. Will 29 grains yield enough pressure to get a fully formed shoulder or do I need to go up in charge weight? Thanks.
29 gr. should be O K to blow out brass with the 105 VLDs. Can't comment on the 105 Barnes. No experience with that one.Sorry. Lapua 6 BR cases with 105 VLD and 105 Barnes.

I saw your post on the Facebook page earlier.... My rifle has very similar behavior with the 108 ELDM and H4895. My assumption is that it is the Alpha brass. Case capacity seems to be about .75 grains less than Lapua brass. That would explain the pressure at close to standard loads( most are based on the use of Lapua brass).View attachment 1349737How in the hell are you guys getting 31+ grains? What's weird to me is 3 days earlier I shot all the way to 30.6 with only ejector swipe. No sticky bolt. Same 90° temp as yesterday.30.7 H4895 108s just touching Alpha . 80* No pressure signs. I don't know why. ??
In the 30s I start to get hard bolt lift. I seem to have a node at 30.7. Rifles are like boats, they should all have womens names.

No, twice fired brass. Approximate 400 rounds fired. (Preece chambered Proof)By chance, is this virgin brass &/or a new barrel?
