What I think of Konus scopes

pirate ammo

Guaranteed to take the wind out of their sails
Been sent back once already, can't get my money back and refuse to sell it to someone else. Used for 6 rounds period. No windage adjustment and reticle moves between rounds. Sending it back again. Before and after.

holy cow what happened to that And I wonderered where you been!!!

THERE IS A REASON FOR THEIR PRICE POINT
i have had their spotting scopes, and it proved a point...cheap is cheap
the bad news is they produce stuff for other companies but typically add quality and the price goes up.\you really have to pay for quality.
what power is that scope ??
i might have a low end upgrade for you

I bought one Konus product years ago, a spotting scope. I bought it specifically because of the many, many glowing reviews on the internet. Most said something like "equal to scopes costing many time more."

I don't think I could have been more unhappy with my purchase. My review would be "equal to something you would expect to pay many times less for."

Since then I won't buy optics unless I can see it in person. Unless it's a known product, that is.

I don't see how you can blame the manufacturer. seems pretty clear that you put a right hand scope on a left hand rifle.

Just last week I gave up on a konus that stopped holding zero.

First between sessions then between shots!

Amen on the pay for quality. A cheap scope on a great rifle is just counterproductive. Many just don't get the fact that in optics there is no such thing as cheap and good.

Had I experienced the catastrophic failures pictured with any 'scope, I would be unhappy. That said, how much did you pay for these 'scopes? Surely that has to balance one's expectations some? (Bad warranty service notwithstanding).
Several years ago I bought a Konus 'scope on extreme sale from BH Photo Video. It's big, clunky and runs out of elevation in a hurry. It's currently sitting on a 24" 6.5 Grendel upper. Would I buy it again today given what my needs are? Absolutely not. But for what I got vs. what I paid, I can't complain too much.
I also have two Konus spotting scopes. Again, they were quite inexpensive. The smaller is quite adequate to 1,000 yards the larger works to 1,800. Would I like better glass? Certainly. Again, not what I would buy today. But for what I paid, I can't complain.
Perhaps I have been luckier than most.

I have a couple of the Konus Pro 1.5-6x40ish scopes for coyote hunting. I'm pretty impressed by them for the price and the circle-dot reticle is one of the better one for close in stuff as far as I'm concerned. They are bulky and heavy but they are working well on my AR and custom Rem 600 in 6x45. I've had the one on the 6x45 for about three years and the one on the AR for two.
