Fedex tracking

Has anybody else had problems tracking their packages? The tracking info does show up a day or 2 after the package is delivered. Fedex CS & Tech Support was about as useful as tits on a bull. Ain't technology grand?

Have you tried it on a different computer? Cleared your cache? If you're doing a copy and paste of the tracking # make sure you don't include a "blank" space before the first #.

I have found FedEx tracking useless. Last few bullet deliveries came FedEx and they didn't update on time and after they did update, it came a day early. If you have to sign for package it's a pain in the a$$.

FedEx tracking has been terrible for me too, UPS and USPS are generally quite good here.

Yes it has been trouble.

Entered Tracking from a Picture of the Label . Reply Nothing Found, 3 times.
That afternoon package by front door.

No idea how much UPS has spent on their tracking system IT front end but it must be a boatload. They have spoiled us now.

Here's a positive report. Fedex shipment sent to my brother in Oregon last month.
Tracking available on the web confirmed arrival within minutes of delivery.

I then called my brother and he saw the package on his porch.

This is a very rural area that doubtless involved a long drive for Fedex and the shipping price was way less than I expected.

HORRIBLE!!!! Had primers shipped from Iowa to Pittsburgh. Sat in FedEx Grove City, OH for 2+ days. I could have driven there and back in 6 hours. Never got the text updates as requested. Finally delivered. Never had to sign for them, even though it says signature required. Seems the estimated delivery changed 4 different times.

I've found that the "big three" (in the U.S. -- FedEx, UPS and USPS) have all slipped this past two years. Whatever the reason, tracking that was once nearly rock-solid has instead turned a bit soft. I'm assuming it's something simple like failure to properly scan items, or bugs and glitches in the software systems that have infected the timeliness and accuracy of reporting to the "tracking" websites.

Most of my experience with delivered items (to me) this past two years has been USPS, with UPS next, and rarely FedEx. Have had packages criss-cross the country multiple times before they get it right ... outright disappearance of packages inside my locked mailbox despite getting notified that it was delivered ... and other similar wonky situations.

FedEx tracking is a joke as far as anticipated delivery date.

With Hazmat deliveries, they are supposed to require a signature. Since I work full time, I schedule days off to receive hazmat deliveries. I've had FedEx estimated delivery dates change 5 times over the course of 2 days, and still be delivered on a day they never estimated. They have delayed the anticipated delivery date by 2 days and delivered it a half hour after changing it to 2 days out. This stuff is pretty common. At least it keeps me from exceeding my accrued vacation cap.

A package I got last week (Friday), the driver ignored a "FedEx: Please Ring Doorbell" note on the door and left the package on the porch (either with no signature, or a forged one; haven't looked it up.) The following Monday I had to sign for one.

Another delivery was left, signed by "Jhon" while I was at work, so apparently I can be in two places at once, but can't spell my own name (that one night have someone other than FedEx; don't remember now.)

The CEO of FedEx does have his email address out in the public (I found it pretty easily with a web search), you'll get a reply from his office, but don't expect much else. Still, more complaints are better then fewer, I guess.

I don’t use FedEx at all . There drivers need to learn how to drive. Don’t get in front of them they will run you over also every time they left my packages out in the weather. FedEx pays there drivers per package so they get what the company deserves. Oh well

UPS tracking is a joke and is just as bad as Fedex...speaking of which, Fedex lost a new gas cooktop we ordered...seriously?....

Unfortunately, sometimes you don’t have a choice. Brownells uses FedEx for their hazmat. I don’t remember having a choice during the checkout process.

Just placed an order from Amazon seller says it shipped FedEx said they picked it up and that was it, after the day it was to be delivered they said they never picked it up. Contacted seller and they said it wasn't the first time FedEx didn't scan an item, the seller is making it right sending another package.

Thanks for the responses. I see it's not just me. I only posted here to see if I was just lucky lately or if there was a widespread problem. Other than the tracking non information I've had no problems with Fedex. I only called them to see if they were aware of a problem & if there was a fix. Last time I try to be helpful.

Yes copy & paste, no spaces fore or aft. Cache clears itself daily. The robocall earlier in the week stated it would be here yesterday. I left the front door open (but not the storm door) all day with a note in case I was in the basement or something... nothing. The 1st call to CS automated answer knew who I was somehow with an unlisted/blocked number & said the package would be here later in the day. The CS rep was useless but said the package would be here later. She transferred to tech suport & they were equally useless. The second call late last evening the robot remembered that I had called before & said it had no idea when the package would come.

The package came today. Signature required so I asked the driver what was up. He said the whole system is a disaster & has him going to make deliveries which there is no package for. I guess they track his movements. Hope he doesn't get fired when the supercomputer reads this rant. Tried the tracking # again after delivery & still nada. They want these same computers to run our lives?

Had a package sit in CA for 4 days, asked shipper to check on the status. They said damaged during shipping (bottle of EH Taylor single barrel) showed up two days later undamaged. Tracking shows its still in CA

I've had issues with all the shippers, including Amazon, but FedEx has been the best for me and my preferred shipper for the last 5-10 years.

I will say that FedEx Smart Post sucks. It's a combination/cooperation between FedEx and USPS. FedEx will show they delivered the package, but in reality they only delivered it to the USPS for final delivery.

I stopped using UPS completely due to their cost and the 10 day coast to coast shipping times.

I live in Alabama. On two different occasions in the last six months, FedEx drivers in the state have dumped hundreds of packages in convenient roadside ditches and gullies to shorten their day. Makes you wonder if their Super Tracker indicated ‘In a ditch on the side of the road. Check back later.’ Somehow I doubt it. As far as the USPS goes, they are the worst of the Apple Dumpling Gang. My opinion.
