What's the "hot property" scope, these days?

This will be for 6 ARC semi out to 800+ yards. I'll be handloading for precision and want a FFP scope. Target use only. I like using the reticle more than dialing for distance.

Seems the Leup MK5 was a big deal for a while. I got a Athlon Ares BTG Gen 2 4.5-27 x 50 in the safe. I'd like to take a step (or two) up from that.

Suggestions needed. Thanx.

It all depends on your budget, and the bells & whistles that you want it to have.
You can get a used tier 1 scope for a little more than a new tier 2 scope, and get the best bang for your buck.

I won't argue about Schmidt & Bender, I have an array of scopes
for various purposes, but I have an original 4.5-30 Bushnell XRS
that I will never part with. I believe an XRS was used to win the
King of 2 mile, a couple of years ago.

well you said TARGET..YOU DID NOT SAY STEEL.
targets have an x and a 10 ring, scoring rings
with a target rifle you cannot have too much power.
most popular is the 15-55x nf with the march 10-60/40-60x scopes
do not get hung up on ffp...the object is to hit the target.
if this is actually a steel banging scope...i still suggest as much power as you can afford, and just dial down for the conditions.
i use a valdada 5.5-40x for 2k lots of internal elevation..not a big issue if 800 is your limit

+1 on the Trijicon 4.5-30x56. I’ve been using one for 4 years now. Amazing top of the line Japanese glass. Better glass than NightForce NX8 or NXS. I can see my 30 cal holes in the target at 870 yards quite easily. Great illumination function, super easy to use zero stop, 25 MOA per revolution of the turret, tool-less turret zero reset, plus legendary Trijicon customer service should you ever need it. But I doubt you will ever need CS because the scope is built like a tank.

Can find great deals on the Trijicon from time to time if you are patient.

And FYI, you can still range with most second focal plane reticle scopes. Just need to have it set at the power stated in the manual for ranging. Trijicon has the magnification required for ranging etched into the glass below the reticle so you never forget what power it needs to be at when looking thru the scope. I don’t like FFP because in wide mag range scopes the reticle is so small on low magnification it’s totally useless then on high magnification it’s sometimes way too thick for precise aiming. But Trijicon does make a FFP model if that’s what you think you need (even tho you don’t ;) )

I own IOR and many others. Valdada has by hands down the best glass. March is a very close second. March has excellent customer support. IOR is in Europe with major issues at the moment. Customer service for Valdada is not so good at the moment. If you have the money, can’t go wrong with March. Their glass is awesome.

At the moment, SM doesn’t offer a high magnification scope. If they did it would probably be the ticket.

Explain, please? If you don’t mind. I consider the first three pretty equal with Hensoldt way ahead.
tt no history ( 9 years old. no list of grass source, not list of glass coatings, no list of actual employes only "professionals" only low magnification scopes..a very narrow market. no market history...who uses them..what mil what government ?? a name brand pushed by armament. they have nothing to justify the costs..\
IMHO.......again the question was target shooting to 800 yards,,the have no scope that fits
stay in context...TARGET SHOOTING TO 800 YARDS.....
not steel not hunting
