Questions in making 20VT brass from LC, Forming Steps & Trimmer Used?

I made a video of all the steps in making vartarg brass out of 223 brass, the way I do it.
Of course there are other methods like using the little chop saw , I didn't mention in the video, I anneal before loading. If the link doesn't work, you can just search for making vartarg brass

video not working

I saw your videos about making the brass, good job!

I'm amazed they seem to be the ONLY videos about 20 Vartarg on YouTube! I'll have to try to get some video footage shooting sage rats this season... It would be a new deal for me.

I've got a 20 Practical, and in the past looked for YouTube videos about that caliber, and there are a few, some 20 Tactical, but not many.

I got the chop saw and the jig for 221 case length. I am going to turn while it is 221 just because I have .22 mandrels.
Way back a hunert’ years ago I made my best fitting 300Whisper brass from 222, necks came out perfect not to thick or thin. That must have been a TC reamer thing.
I thought I was going to save a bunch of time by using 222. Doesn’t look like I will not have to neck turn as it is a few thousands thick as well. I am going to use virgin brass as I have plenty.
Anyone have donut issues? Inside neck ream rather than a mandrel, then neck turn to get to center. My test victim 223 brass there is plenty to work with.

In case anyone following this thread is interested, I have posted some 20 VT brass for sale here, 600 all made from LC brass, ready to load. I also have 106 which have blems, in case you want some cheaper.

Virgin 222 brass, formed to 221-204-17FB. I had a few extra and formed them to 17FB just playing around. They fit the day I formed them, a few days later I was tinkering with them and they were giving me a fit. I annealed again and ran through the sizer again. It has now been a week and they are still fine and will be shot in the next few days.
One thing led to another. Have some 20VT all loaded and ready to go……. Same issue. Seems to be spring back in the shoulder. I used my buddies machine and must not have got a good anneal on them.

I have read countless threads and I recall zero issues. I know we set the headspace pretty tight on this 20VT, may be a partial issue. Just something I wanted to give a heads up to folks.
The price of gas almost takes the fun out of a varmint trip, last year cost me about $6-700, this year $1600. Be some PO’d people with a bunch of ammo that don’t fit.
Lol, gotta mention bolts in rifles too.

Did you know a 204/223 in a 22BR won’t work worth a darn?
