New Member Introduction

Hi all,

I sure hope I'm not posting my first post in the wrong place.

I've hunted and fished all my life and enjoy teaching my kids as much as I can about our great sports. I have a small, rustic woodworking business and my wife is starting up a business selling gun parts. Not guns or receivers, just anything else that is not restricted and is legal to buy/sell without a FFL.

I joined the Shooters Forum, as well as some others, in order to learn more from those much more knowledgeable about all things guns than I am and also to hopefully buy/sell on here.

I spent four years active duty in the Marines and six years in the National Guard. I spent almost 17 years in law enforcement and was medically retired in 2019.

I've been reading through different posts on here and I am very impressed in how much knowledge the members possess. Hopefully at some point down the road I can be helpful to someone as well.

Hi Eric! Welcome to the best shooter’s site on the net. Lots of good guys here that share valuable knowledge and opinions. Since you’re a woodworker, I’ll drop a carrot for you. I wrote a thread about how I make a rifle stock with rudimentary tooling. It’s a hobby of mine. Maybe it would entertain you for a bit and you could add to it. There are a few fine woodworkers that have posted pics of their work on it. I don’t know how to do the “link” thing. I’m a Dinosaur. Here’s the first page.

Those are absolutely beautiful! Nice job! I don't have a Rem 700 but I do have a Tikka T3 in 300 win mag. Hmmmm......

Did this receptionist desk, accent wall, and the shelves on the far wall last year. The black is all burnt pine with bartop epoxy on it. Up close you can see all the features from the burn.

Good to know. Just started tearing down a Ponsness Warren 800 Plus today to refurbish and hopefully sell at some point. Thank you kindly!

Ha! I do T3s, 595s, 695s, Winchester M70s and some others. The top pic is a T3, the fancy bottom one is a Stiller. Just put the barreled action on the bench and start measuring! One step at a time and before you know it, you’re done!
