Accurate 4064 .270 Win

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have a safe load for .270win using Accurate 4064?

I am brand new to reloading and I am reloading for my .270 Win primarily. The only powder I was able to find that was anywhere in the range on my burn rate chart was Accurate 4064. However, I can't seem to find load data for .270win with Accurate 4064. I only have load data for IMR 4064. I do know they are different, but how different are they?
Also, I do not have a chronograph yet... That is on the shopping list.

Happy shooting,
Traveler

Accurate has data on the internet I have been using it in a 30-06 works well.

We would need to know what weight bullet you intend to use. In my experience, 4064 only works with lighter bullets. 120 grain bullets would be a max for 4064. With that weight bullet, I would start at 48 grains and work up a load.

I was planning on putting Hornady 130gr InterLocks in there...

Use this.....
I looked there. and there is a load for 270wsm but there isn't for 270win.

Is there an issue in starting with relatively light load, and working my way up in very small increments. All the while paying very close attention to any signs of pressure? I'm realizing that I jumped the gun on the powder and that it's not usually used in 270win (I have found a few online). At this point, I'm just trying not to have wasted that money.

If I were you, I would start at about 47 grains with the 130 grain bullets and load 5 at that level, another 5 at 47.5 etc. till you get to your node.

If you are in an area where Accurate powders are available (can be spotty) you would be better served with their AA 2700, AA 4350 or MagPro powders. You probably can use the AA 4064, but it won't be optimal and load data will mostly be a guess.
