I don't have listing for 87 VMax in 6BR in my books. I have a 27" 8T Wilson barrel (lightly used Urbanrifleman barrel) and virgin Lapua brass with CCI 450 primers. Want to do intial ladder test at 300 with .5 gr increments with Varget. What would be my maximum listed charge and good starting charge? Please, no other powder recommendations at this point.

Suggest you download the free Sierra bullets loading app. They list load windows for both their 85 grain and 90 grain Sierra bullets. The downloaded data should give you a decent idea on how to structure your 87 grain v-max ladder.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
@urbanrifleman I bought complete used rifle off this sight as was cheaper than sourcing all of the components I wanted. Shot so good with the included ammo that I decided to keep it together. Taking it on PD hunt in June.

Interesting you brought this up as I too would like to load 87gr Vmax in my 6BR. I contacted Hornady just yesterday and they informed me that they have no loads for the 87 in a 6BR. Hodgedon also has no info for this set up.

30 grains Varget, CCI 450, 87 VMAX, .010 into the rifling. 4 (5) shot groups agg. .287 from Kreiger barreled Remington. Hard to beat this with mass produced bullets. Start at 28.00 grains and work up. You will be happy with this combo.
wat twist is that kreiger Paul?
