I 100% agree!More time, more work, than starting with a new barrel for me.
It always takes a little longer to find out where the bodies are buried on reworks like this. Cut from blank mo betta.More time, more work, than starting with a new barrel for me.
And then you own anything the guy before you did...right or wrong.I no longer rechamber previously chambered barrels for any reason. There is no way to know what, or if, anything is wrong with it before starting.
"all ya gotta do is..."To properly chamber an AI, the barrel has to be set back a thread so there is a little more to it than just "punching it out".
My blood pressure just spiked."all ya gotta do is..."
My blood pressure just spiked.
Yep this was a trigger for me back in the day."all ya gotta do is..."
So to re indicate it in, possibly off some rough lands and grooves, pick up the threads again if needed and rechamber…. You think most would only charge approx 1/3 of the cost??!!I beleive most gunsmiths, would charge you around $125.00 for a re=chamber job. But as many have mentioned there is more too doing the job right, than just "Punching it out". Talk to one of your local smiths and see what he says.

Same as "I've got this used barrel I bought on Ebay"...And then you own anything the guy before you did...right or wrong.
