Well all I can say is some of you all have some great answers... My first wife cost me lots but the second time around its awesome. She new I was looking at this machine then once I said we're buying it she was like yeah . Then the job list came out think she's getting a better deal out of this . Well kitchen and dinning room is getting an upgrade and the outdoor BBQ area will be getting the same . Just put this thread up to see what everybody would say all I know is I have a new machine getting delivered in the next few weeks that will make my life easier in the workshop.

My wife ask me if she can go with me to look at the machine, if it is in good condition, what can we use it for and if it is a good buy. She even put in a Thompson Center black powder rifle she had won in a raffle to close a trade on a Reid Brothers surface grinder.

She and I grew up together in WV and she truly likes pretty much all thing mechanical including fast cars, motorcycles and firearms.

She is a keeper.

I don’t have that problem any more, I now have a dog. She is always happy to see me, rarely disagrees then says nothing about the language I may use when a disagreement does occur. She is always happy to see me bring anything thing home and is the first to inspect it.

We both lack in adult supervision though.

My wife and I buy what we want for the most part. As long as bills are paid, foods on the table and lights are on it hasn't been an issue. I've got a good one. Redheaded and all! I learned a long time ago not to make a redhead mad.. I often ask about her shoe collection. One time I had to empty gun safes and gun cabinet. She ask how many I had. My answer was I don't know then she started counting.

BTW she got 2 pair of new shoes today by ups. I didn't say anything but those are nice shoes! Got a new to me rifle laying on the counter right now. Not a word said!

I also remove the price labels off power, bullets, primer. She doesn't ask so i don't tell. I didn't ask how much the 2 pair of shoes cost today either....

If you spent 6K on something and didn't tell your wife, you are on your own, and on really shaky ground. At this point i would say nothing unless asked. If asked DO NOT lie or misrepresent the truth in any way.

How about you just cover all your bills and responsibilities and buy whatever the hell you want with your money. I Don't dig into her finances she doesn't dig into mine.

My strategy is that I've learned to "Embrace the Doghouse" ... so just tell her you did it, and you'd do it again. Then when she puts you in the "Doghouse", have some fun. Go shooting, buy more stuff, hang out with your buddies, buy tickets to the game. She'll see you enjoying your time in the Doghouse, and will eventually reach in and pull you out. If you do this right, and enough times, when she gets angry at you say "Are you putting me in the Doghouse?" ... and she'll say "NO, NOT AT ALL .. I love what you did, let's go have sex ...".

So that's the secret ... Embrace the Doghouse ... it's a life-changing strategy for married men.

Absolutely. You can't love em fully to sanctification by trying to acquiesce their emotions. That's a losing battle.

A new chain saw for her birthday after the last hurricane.
We take turns buying guns.
I have recently gone to AR uppers.
An upper is NOT a gun.
Still my turn.

I wonder if I can get away with buying my wife a new set of tires for my truck..... off to scheme LOL

Ha! Good memory. Years ago when I was full time in Delaware, I volunteered as builder/handyman for our church. I ate lunch everyday with the church secretary and we became close friends. Upon hearing my predicament, she said “Just send everything here! I’ll cover for you!” And so I did!
