Does anyone remember when Lapua switched from the gold box to the new blue plastic for its brass?

Yeah but at over $300 for 100 cases even if they come in a pretty plastic container I will take lapua every time .

I used to buy the gold by the case, and have one last case (with one box in the bottom) with a shipping date of 2008 or 2009.....it is hard to read the last digit on the shipping label. IIRC, the bulk price for a box of 100 6BR was around 49 dollars

I would like to try Peterson to see if thresholds are higher. So far all brass is about the same, except for Norma that is softer.

I have worked up to brass failure in 29 different cartridges.

6mmBR brass with small primer pocket in a Mauser case head, is stronger than any primer /firing pin combination I have tried. Most rimmed rifle cases are likewise stronger than the primer. The 6mmBR is outstanding for having an extractor groove.

15 years ago there was a guy on AR that could calculate max pressure for case head designs. He use Von Misses formula. His predictions corresponded well with my tests / Quickload pressure calculations.

The last Lapua 338s i bought were $2.85 each and that was 15 years ago

6.5cm 260r .... 7mm rm are $360 per 100 I'm in aus but I figure lapua cases are also a lot cheaper in the US .

Just watched a video update from ADI a week or so ago all the powder is flowing here and they are the ones who make hodgdon powders only ones they are not making atm are pistol and shotgun and we call it ar2205 over there you call it h 4227 .
And they mentioned contract commitments with the US I gather that's hodgen and a 4 billion dollar contract with Europe no doubt that's where all the pistol powders are going so with any luck your powder woes should be over soon
