at a pal's private dyno test shop and race car facility. We dyno mostly NHRA Stock, Super Stock and Competition Eliminator engines along with the occasional interesting project. Our testing work gets pretty involved as we're working with the owners to find every last h.p./tq. we can. Some of this testing goes on a for a while and a certain engine can live in the dyno cell for several weeks, if that's what it takes. We're always validating or discarding new ideas...part of the game. Here's a few that we've done recently...the first is my 327 Stock Eliminator engine testing some oil pan ideas. The oil pan was off and back on 11 times over two days but the net result was 8 h.p. and 8 lbs/ft. of torque of 'free' power which is pretty substanial on these rules restricted engines.
