Barnes match Burners are cheap compared to others. To get better results they should be weigh sorted and bearing surface sorted to get the best out of them.

RL-22 seems to be the best powder I've found for competition with a 140 class bullet.

He's trying for that 2900-2950. Told him to step into the AI version and get that number on cruise control. He wants to stick with the standard cartridge hoping the RL26 is his pixie dust.

Good advice. Maybe the small primer brass would hold up?

Yes, it appears that they have been pointed. They shoot extremely well in both my 260AI with H-4831.

They shoot well in my 8tw 260 with h4350. Now, the only thing I need is some more 4350.
The 150smks at are factory pointed also. Shoot lights out in my 6.5 prc with h1000.
My buddy is still using berger 140s with 4831 sc in his ackley. He has seen mine and is thinking about switching.
In my opinion the new sierras are probably the best the have produced.

Myself and 2 friends had problems with 150SMK’s blowing up. They don’t seem to hold up to F Class chain of fire. It’s rough to loose 10 points every time the bullet doesn’t make to the target, lol

Seems like every bullet except the Berger's have those issues. Not heard of the Scenars having them but I really am not sure how popular they are in match's. I've never had any blow up, even during 600/1000 yard shoots.I shoot Berger's and Sierra SMKs. I prefer Hornady otherwise.

I have not shot them in 10 shot rapid strings. I have run them up to 3150 in a 7.5tw 5R barrel for three shot strings without problems.
If I had blow ups, I would't use then either. There is no recovery from a zero and the whole match is wasted.
