500 yd steel match, N. Texas

mule

Silver $$ Contributor
We’re putting together a centerfire steel match nothing over 30 caliber. On February 12th. We may make this a monthly match.

500 yard tournament style shooting match double elimination. . $40 per person 50% payback. Match will be shot prone or from the bench shooter's choice.

We will be shooting at three different size targets first is an 8-inch Target for one point next is a 5-inch Target for two points and the last is a 3 inch Target for three points. Object is to score more points then the guy you are shooting against in five shots

Front bipod and rear sandbag only , location in valley view Texas. North of Denton.

We will also be shooting Cold bore first thing in the morning as a side pot if a shooter wants to participate. It will be $10 per shooter. One shot whoever is closest to center wins. We will have a camera set up down there to spot the shots.

Come with your gun prepared to shoot 500 yd. If you do not hit the target or the berm behind it you will be disqualified for the day. If this happens to you a second time you will be dismissed from the range for the rest of the year. The berm is 6 to 7 ft tall and 20 yards wide. Location valley view Texas.

Shooters draw numbers for placement in the bracket. When pairings come up a coin toss decides who shoots first then alternate for the 5 shots….most points wins, loser moves to the losers bracket but can still make it into the finals with good shooting. Everybody does a good job following standard safety rules and it’s a great time with a lot of really good shooting going on.

There will be a deadline to sign up for the match .Thursday night before the match at 8:00 p.m. That will determine the bracket size. 16, 20 or 24 . Example, if there are 19 shooters signed up at 8:00 we will be using a 16 man bracket the last 3 shooters that signed up will be on the wait list. Also Thursday night at 8:00 will be the deadline to withdraw from the match. Anything after that your money is forfeited to the match. Only exceptions will be for emergencies, having a hangnail is not an emergency. Next year each shooter will have an official scorer. The person that is doing the official scoring will not be calling impact placement for the shooter. The shooter will have to get their own person to call shot placement for them . You guys will have to start helping each other out. This year you will only be able to sign up for one match at a time. Sign up for the match will open up the Monday after the match . Sign up this year will be done on a website called practicecore. You will be able to pay how you want to on there. They are gun friendly. If you sign up for the match and cannot make it please notify me so that if somebody on the wait list still wants to shoot I can notify them.

REGISTRATION FOR MATCHES.

We will be using PayPal again this year. You'll be put on the list in the order that you paid.

when you PayPal me , make it friends and family or add the extra PayPal fee if you can't figure it out. The only note you need to put in there is the month for that match. If you are registering for the February match put February nothing else or I will reject it and you will not be on the list until you do it correctly.

Well I guess I'm out. I was banned from PayPal and they stole all the money in my account.

For selling Ar15 grips.

If they find out that you are using PayPal for gun stuff they will ban you too. And keep your money.

This is a fun, relaxed match with a super cool & fair format. Unfortunately, I've only been able to make one of them, and won't be able to make this one either. Boo

You need to drop payment by Paypal. That is a deterrent to many, many shooters.

As I stated in my description all you have to do is State the month. PayPal will not know what is going on. I did this all last year with no problem. If you mentioned anything gun related in the PayPal I will reject it.. if you are still afraid send me a PM and we will figure something out.

Maybe I should do this for the locals. Cheap and easy to run. Make it really tuff, set targets at 600.
This the same type match Rodney beveridge puts on at the Way Out West Shooting Center?

If u do it, I’ll do my best to make them. 10 & 13yr old kids, so usual disclaimers apply. Sundays are better than Saturdays.

Harsh penalty for sending a round out of the range ?? If you can’t hit a 6 ft tall dirt pile at 500 maybe you should not be there.
If you were the person liable for any accident on that piece of property you would have a different attitude.
He said if you missed target or berm. He didn’t say if you miss target you would be DQ’d

There are a lot of .30 calibers other than .308. 30BR, 30-06, 300 WSM, 300 WM just to name few...
