Trijicon Tenmile?

I have a Trijicon 5-50X56 Tenmile. I have not had it long. I have shot 1, 2 day 1000 yard IBS, match with it. I am amazed at how well i was able to see my target. It was raining and foggy. Most of the shooters were complaining about not being able to see shot splashes on sighters. I had no problems at all. fog wasn't a issue and when the sun came out and had some mirage it cut through that as well. All I can say is that I am very pleased with mine. Glass is very good to my eyes. I'm still adjusting to the turrets and click ratios but otherwise very very pleased. Hope that helps.

I have the 4-24x50 as well as the 4.5-30x56. Both have SFP reticles. The 4.5-30 has sharper glass on same power levels, has low light performance that is unparalleled at any price point, and a thinner reticle. Of course the 4.5-30 is a much more expensive scope so I would expect as much. The 4-24 has really good glass but the reticle is a little thicker than I personally prefer.

That being said, firing in the prone position from an Atlas CAL bipod with one of my hunting rifles, I have been able to put up multiple groups a little over 2” on targets at 870 yards using the 4-24 Tenmile on max power so it is without a doubt a very capable long range scope.

The 4-24 is not an overly heavy optic coming in at only 32-33 oz (2 lbs, 0.8 oz) with the included Tenebraex caps, Seekins rings, and a bubble level. Whereas the 4.5-30 with its 34mm tube, larger objective, and massive amount of internal adjustment is quite heavy and weighs around 43 oz with the same brand caps, rings, and level. So there’s enough weight difference between the two models where you can definitely feel it when packing them on a rifle slung over your shoulder during long hikes.

Pic below:

I have two of the 5-50. Absolutely in love. It’s been the best of the last three scopes I’ve used. Meaning it’s taken all the things I loved from my last three plus fixed some things from each I didn’t like. Incredible scope for $1700. I’ll post my full review later this week I’m hoping.

I have one on each of my F-Open rifles. Don't see any on the line though. I love the bright and clear image. I have used the Nightforce Comp on my midrange gun and lost the dot on the black at 300! The Ten Mile is great with the hash marks, you can bracket on days when the rings are just too muddy! Here is a pic of the TenMile and the Comp side by side! It's a Beast!

Interesting string. I don't know how one has this conversation without a price comparison. While cost may not be an issue for the buyer, value should be. I looked at Midway -- yes I know there are other vendors but it's useful for a quick comp -- NF comp, $2,400, Trijicon MRAD $1,899 (MOA, special order $1,750) The Delta Stryker mentioned in this string as a Trijicon fellow is $1,590.
I own two Stryker HD 5-50s, one the older model, one current. They are mounted on my Savage F/TR rifles. Apart from the size of the numbers on the turrets I can't tell any difference between them. I use the Delta parallax wheel on both and get incredibly clear images. I am on record as saying I think the Delta scopes punch $1K above their weight and I still believe that to be true. I like the Delta reticle better than the Trijicon, but hey, chacun a son goute.
The NF comp has a 30mm tube, correct? The Trijicon or Delta 34mm. I am retiring all my 30mm tube scopes. 34mm and up from now on for me.
Speaking of which... how good is the Delta? I have really only one comparison, to my Valdada G2 Recon, also a LOW product except it has some German glass. It is a superior scope but then it's $3,000 and has a 40mm tube. Other than that, honestly, to my old (renewed) eyes, it's a pretty close thing.
Folk have mentioned warranties. To bastardize that great American, Forest Gump, warranties are like a box of chocolates. I now own a nice Nikon camera that I have in place of my lovely Nikon 'scope whose reticle went upside down and Nikon decided they weren't in the 'scope business any more. The best warranty I've seen is from Blackhound, whose scopes sell in the low hundreds, not thousands. They had a replacement scope on its way to me before I'd even printed off the free return label they sent me. So long as your manufacturer has been in business a while, I think you can reasonably expect fair treatment (I hope).
In closing, I think if your price point is over, say, $1,500 and it's a LOW product, you're probably not going to be disappointed.

I am a new owner of the Trijicon 5-50 Ten Mile moa scope. This is right now my highest $$$ scope. I do own 3 Sightron Siii scopes , 2 10-50 and a 8-32, both moa. I love the Sightron's, and the Trijicon appears better. I am looking for a Sightron SVSS ED in moa, but they are hard to find the model I want for under $2000.00. At the $2000.00 price range I don't think you can do better, maybe match at best. Mirage is the beast I fight at matches, here in S.E. New Mexico , temps in the summer cause mirage to make the steel plates to morph into black fuzzy bouncing balls.!!! I know there are scopes that might be better at minimizing mirage, but I can't afford 3.5k- 4k for scopes....maybe after a couple matches shot in the cold, I can better review the Trijicon, but I'd buy another, or look into the Stryker ???? rsbhunter

that's why I'm looking hard at the SV ED....I have read the differences between the Siii and SV with the ED glass is drastic...how does the SV ED compare to the Trijicon Tenmile?rsbhunter

That I don’t know because I haven’t looke thru a SVED yet. But I hear the same thing about the Sightron ED glass. I’m sure it’s the same Japanese ED glass from LOW all the other top shelf scopes use. But Sightron uses a unique and extremely precise side focus/parallax system for that scope which can really fine tune an image so they might be maximizing the potential of the glass better. Plus the Sightron 10-50 mag range will probably allow the glass give a better picture than the Trijicon 5-50 range.

Bad thing I found with the Delta 5-50 I had, which I’m sure is also the case with the Trijicon version, is that once you exceed about 75% of the elevation adjustment range in the up or down direction from optical center, the clarity starts to get pretty bad on max power. A 10x mag range is just too far for a scope that allows 100 MOA of adjustment. Would probably need a 40+mm tube to maintain a useable image on max power with that much adjustment

Yes, the "F.A.S.T." parallax adjustment I think would be fantastic. The only thing that's of concern is there are some in-depth reviews of the SVED vs other scopes, and the SVED comes out on the bottom for ability to minimize mirage.....nothing eliminate's it, but some are said to minimize the effect.....rsbhunter

Well that’s not always a bad thing. Many competitive target shooters want to have a scope that can show them the mirage for wind reading. Some companies build their high power target scopes with that factor in mind

True, but when the target literally are fuzzy bouncing balls, I'd rather have to depend on the flags and be able to have a stable spot to aim for....100°+ heat is hard on focusing..... But, do what you can to hit...rsbhunter

2 for sale right now in classifieds was anyway

I would not compare the Trijicon 10 mile to the SVSS ED , Unless I had both to compare....but I wish someone would compare them....before I drop $2000 for the privilage.....rsbhunter

Most of the SV Trijicon's I have seen for sale are not ED MODELS. There is about an $800 difference between the 2. Also, while I know alot of people like the dot reticle, I want the MOA-1 . So, I may yet spend the $$$ on one, as there is nowhere to try one out...rsbhunter

I have the SVSSED and like it a lot better than my NF Comp at 1000yds.
Its just how my eyes see the target through that glass.
Nothing wrong with the NF and I still use it on my back up gun, however im now quite intrigued
by the Ten Mile and may have to try one at some point.
Like mentioned earlier the 34 mil tube makes a big difference with dialing at distance and keeping a clear
picture.
