What are you charging to ream a Newlon seater die?

Title pretty much covers it, but what are you charging or what have you been charged to have a Newlon micrometer die reamed?

The last time I had one done, I was charged $80. That was for a wildcat cartridge using my reamer.

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. That price is right inline with what I was thinking. Thank you.

Not enough, thats for sure! To set up and do dies right, its close to as much work as chambering a barrel. Most guys charge 75 to crown a barrel. Thats setup time and a quick cut. No drilling, boring, reaming, measuring, ext....

I didn’t want to say anything, cause I figured no one is charging $250 plus the $148 for the die.

I just did one for myself for a BRA and had an inquiry about doing one for a guy that was by the day I did it, my first thought was not worth it. Like you said, the way I did it was just like a barrel chamber, so why would I charge say $250 for a chamber and $75 for a die?

If I had a CNC lathe I could see getting it done. It’s just one of those things you can’t charge for I guess.

Same here, So I am trying to figure out how I will get my Newlon die (cut with my chamber reamer) to FL size the case for my mag fed AR.

I wondered why the couple smiths I asked about getting a die from quoted me such a high price, until I made one after buying my lathe. My first thought was these take as much work as chambering a barrel.
