Newlon Precision?

Any opinions on Newlon Precision dies?????

I was told that thier neck die is good, but thier seater die leaves something to be desired........

What sayeth the masses..............good and bad opinions are appriciated.

Phil.

For a F/L sizing die I'd use Harrell's Precision http://www.harrellsprec.com/ or Redding, both with bushing capability. For a seater die I always go with a micrometer topped Wilson. The best pricing and least expensive shipping for Wilson and Redding is found at: http://www.gunstop.com/Store/Reloading%20Dies/L-E-Wilson

Try makes the very best die BLANKS, not finished dies. If you want an opinion as to their potential to be chambered into excellent dies, You might call Billy Stevens (He uses a lot of them.). If you don't recognize the name, ask anyone in the short range Benchrest game. On the other hand Lynwood Harrell makes finished FL dies for a short list of calibers, that are available for each in a variety of sizes, so that one with the correct fit may be paired to your fired brass. They are in common use in Benchrest competition, and would not be if their quality was in question. He is also an all round good guy. There is no one better to deal with.

I have a Newton 6X47 die and have been very happy with it. For seating, I use Wilson. They came together in a package deal and I see no reason to change.

I use both sizing and seating Newlon blanks. I think they make one of the best blanks out there and ultimately how “good” they are will come down to who and how they’re reamed. In the hands of a capable machinest or gunsmith and provided you have quality reamers you’ll be hard pressed to beat Newlon.
