6 dasher hard bolt lift

I am breaking in a new 6 dasher, it's a dasher criterion barrel savage action. Cci450 and alpha munitions brass. I am currently using 32 grains of H 4350 and With alpha munitions brass. I'm getting good groups but oops but having a hard bowl lift and I know I have a really tight head space. I don't understand why I am getting a hard bolt lift.

You have tight headspace? Is the bolt close and lift difficult with an unloaded piece on new brass? If so you could adjust your headspace with the barrel nut set up or bump your brass shoulder back .003”.

I just put together exactly the same Dasher as you have, Savage Target Action, Criterion barrel, new Alpha brass. The load I am using is CCI 450, 32.3gr of Varget, with Berger 105gr Hybrids. I set my headspace up so the bolt will close with no effort on a PTG "GO" gauge, but if you add a piece of Scotch "magic" tape to the base of the gauge it's too tight. I haven't had any hard bolt lift issues. The brass has had 2X firings (annealed after each) and I set the shoulder back 0.002" with a Whidden "click", bushing die.

A guy I shoot with has a Dasher. He uses H4350 and is in the 34.5-35gr range, so I doubt it is your load. My guess would be your headspace is just set too tight.

I too have had this trouble with Alpha brass in the 6 Dasher. It does take less powder than LAPUA brass to get similar velocities. With Lapua brass, 34 grains of 4350 with 105 Bergers gives me a velocity around 3000 fps. Check your velocity and see if you are around that speed at 32 grains.
Another factor is that Alpha's original introduction of 6 Dasher brass was different/softer than the newer upgraded brass. The new brass is labeled as OCD brass on the box. It is suppose to be "better" at holding pressure.
Which brass do you have?
I have only tested the first generation of Alpha brass and I am not happy with it.
I have some of the new OCD brass but haven't worked with it yet. Too many irons in the fire.
