One positive thing this shortage does, is give you time to dig further into areas you haven't looked in years.
Back of one safe was a Weatherby Mark XXII. Bought it decades ago. Perfect (like new) except the turret covers on the scope are gone. Gone meaning there isn't even any sense looking. I see it's a Leupold 4x scope. I figure well, I'll call them. 3 minute conversation and today I received two new covers. No charge! Great guy I talked to who probably wasn't even born when I bought this.
Just have to pass it on as a great 'customer support' story.

Springfield Armory replaced a damaged 1911 9mm bbl in my Ronin, no questions asked. I maye have even been the one to damage the bbl punching out a squib load.

I'm at 3 weeks turn around on a Mark 6 that was damaged. Leupold sent me an email with tracking number that it was on it's way to me. It was supposed to be here tomorrow, but UPS is letting me down, extreme weather used as an excuse, pfft . I can't wait to get it on a rifle. This is the first time I've had to send anything in; so far I'm happy with the turn around. I'll see what they did for repairs I guess when it arrives.

I have a Mark 6 that's been back three times for wandering zero and poor tracking. Two of the three times I was told "it passed all our tests". After the second time, I told them if it doesn't work I want a replacement. They agreed and assured me it was fine. Third time and hundreds of rounds of ammo wasted,

I called them back and was told by the guy in charge that I couldn't shoot or my rifle was bad and it was fine, I was told he pulled the records and there are no problems, etc etc. I informed him I was a marksmanship instructor and the rifle that "wouldn't shoot" shoots fine with one of my three S&Bs and that the Mark 6 had been on four custom rifles with the same issues. I let him know I was tired of sending the thing back and had wasted hundreds on ammo and at least $100 on shipping. He promised he would personally shoot it and if it lost zero and wouldn't track straight he would replace it..

Six weeks later I get a call that my scope has been gutted and repaired and was being sent back. I asked why it wasn't being replaced as promised and the dude was full of excuses. I finally got it back two weeks later with a fresh set of new ring marks that weren't there when it left. I am thoroughly unimpressed with Leupold and the Mark 6. Well, I like the Mark 6 now that it works because of the size/weight/capability. My other Mark 6 has been solid all along.

I just sent in an old favorite that had been injured. They say expect 5 weeks to repair. I figured it was beyond help and would be replaced. Anyway I bought a new Mark 3HD 4-12x40 P5 side focus to mount up where it was. It's getting harder to find an AO from their hunting scopes and with my astigmatisms almost require it to focus.

Last year I sent in a Redfield Revenge for repair. Got an email saying they no longer repaired that scope and would I be interested in a Leupold replacement. I said yes.
I chose a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 6-18x40. Next week a NIB one of those arrived.
No charge!

Well, I got my scope back so far so good; it functions well now. They reworked the adjustments/power ring and installed a new erector. I haven't had it out shooting yet because I am waiting for a new base for my rifle. You don't know what you don't know, but apparently the store where I bought the rifle who put the scope on for me used Millet Angle Loks. Call it inexperience on my part, but I never questioned that part of the equation until I recently switched out scopes and had some serious issues with the rings slipping and head scratching shot groups. Again, I'm no expert, so I guess I don't know how long that has been a problem for shot groups before this year... I ordered a Near MFG picatinny for the Tikka M695 and will use Nightforce rings which will hold either a Bushnell LRHS or Leupold Mark 6. If it doesn't shoot after this, it's likely me.

sent back a old leupold majave bx 3 that was broke .. havent heard back for over a week now. its a binocular. i dont think they can fix it but and i dont think they make a bx3 any more.. wondering how that will work.
