Does anyone know how many Borden “TPE” actions were made?
If it says “poulsbo,wa” on it theres another clueWhen I got into informal benchrest, I bought one of these rifles not knowing what it was. It was used at the time. I really do like the rifle and have since had it re barreled. On the bolt shroud it does have a "N" on it. Now I know more about it.
I don't know a number but you do still see them fairly often. I've owned 3 myself.Does anyone know how many Borden “TPE” actions were made?
I don't recall if they are interchangeable but they are both 1-16-18 TPI with a 30° cone. Of course, tenon length and headspace are the other factors. I want to say that they are the same nominally. Maybe someone can say, that is more certain than I am. Jim Borden would know.Do the Rimrock actions and the TPE actions have the same barrel thread pattern? Once in a while you see a TPE for sale and if a person already had a barrel for a Rimrock that would be convenient.

Did he happen to say what the headspace dimension is for the TPE? It may be possible to simply use a precision spacer on the longer of the two. I've made them for using Teddy barrels on Pandas, for example.I exchanged emails with Jim Borden. The threads are the same, but they headspace differently so the barrels do not interchange.
Yes..............So are the tpe actions still competitive.... there is one for a good price on the list at the shooters corner
I just bought a brand new one. Was reading all y'all's postsJust a quick "add to", the Borden TPE parts and footprint are interchangeable with the Nesika J models. The Borden TPE and Nesika J models were king in their day. I still have them, and use them, with great success. IMHO very few actions could truly be called "better". Some, yes, but very, very few. Just keep 'em clean!
