I find you get better control of the cut into the shoulder if you use a cutter with a sharper angle than the parent case. For the 6BR parent case (30 degree), I use a 40 degree cutter. YMMV.Also New to Brass turning.
I have a Question. On a 6MM BRA with a .268 chamber.
The Brass needs to be fire formed from 6MM BR.
Wouldn't you turn the necks with a 30 Degree (6MM BR) cutting turner to accommodate the .268 chamber before fire forming?
And once the Brass has been fire formed would you Re-turn the brass with a 40 degree cutting turner?
Fireform or hydro form first and then turn necks after if absolutely needed. I wouldn’t even turn necks on Lapua brass. Also New to Brass turning.

With a .268 neck it would be hard to chamber a round without turning before?Fireform or hydro form first and then turn necks after if absolutely needed. I wouldn’t even turn necks on Lapua brass.

Yes I would. I run a 271 neck and I don’t turn the lapua brass at all. And my dasher hammers. 2 of 3 relays cleaned on Saturday. With a .268 neck it would be hard to chamber a round without turning before?
