P51 Mustang stock

[High Noon]

In 2008 we built my 1932 Ford Roadster and dedicated it to the Eagle Squadron. A very special young group of 244 US flyers who volunteered and risked it all to help the British in those dark days prior to the US entering the war. The roadster was painted olive green and features bomber gauges, WWII style hand riveted seats and door panels. The Roadster went on to be featured in Street Rodder magazine, made the Turtle Wax Top 100 in 2009 and was in numerous ads in magazines. Let’s never forget those Eagles!

There's a lil bit of chatter about a
F4 Phantom, or fuel tanker.
Possibly incorporating aspects of both.
P51 stock is prepped for phase 2 tomorrow. Woo Hoo!!

If any of you are familiar with the War Eagles Museum in Santa Teresa NM, these used to be in west Texas east of El Paso. The owner also had a P-38 and F-86. Had a full time mechanic, lots of spare parts and engines. While some were flying RC planes in Horizon, Texas the owner and his friends were chasing each other in the real thing just miles east of them. The move to NM had to do with taxes from what I remember.

I liked to stop in from time to time and maybe bum a ride but never happened.

He did have like 3-4 of the Migs, a couple to fly and the owner told me it's hard to get parts or make ours fit so the extra ones are for parts.

I really wanted to see the Mig and the F-86 chasing each other, that would have been awesome.

I believe I read an article in old skool rodz or similar on this very car.
nasty divorce sent me into a serious spin. All my mags that survived are in less than stellar storage.

When I was there, for work, the other year I got a tour to orient me to some of the work and saw lots of cool projects and equipment and tooling, pointedly did not see a few areas as too secret, but no one showed me the airplane stuff! I am sad now they didn't deem me worthy of that.

I guess that this is last Brewster Buffalo in world. Finnish airforce did fly it during WW2. This plane was forced down during war on a lake in russia. It was rescued after Soviet union collapsed. Originally it is located to US museum but it has been borrowed to Finland, Tikkakoski Airforce Museum for few years.
Tires which were made by Nokia Tires during war did still hold air when rescue team rised this plane from bottom of lake.

Well, with due respect to the OP.
We were in Fairbanks, AK. visiting our Air Force family when my son-in-law said there was an air show that weekend, (this was in the 1990s). The show was going great. While looking away from the field I saw a line of planes coming in for a flyover. It was 6 P-51s. They ROARED by once, no more than 200' of the ground. The crowd just went crazy with cheers. Gotta remember the base wasn't very big, (Eielson) so the crowd was pretty much right in the action. Anyway, the P-51s came in and parked and the pilots starting getting out. At that time 3 vehicles pulled up and the guys with the scrambled eggs hats started piling out. Right away I knew it was someone important in the P-51s. I pushed my way up to just behind the officers. The first pilot gets off his plane, takes off his helmet, and starts walking towards all the officers. Of course, they are at stiff attention. As the pilot got closer I saw that it was Gen Chuck Yeager! Salutes were given and they started chatting. I couldn't believe it, I was standing about 10' from Gen. Yeager! I could hear all they were saying. Then one of the officers said, "Gen. sir, your plane is leaking". All eyes turned toward the plane and it was indeed leaking fluid. Gen Yeager says, "Ahh, that's just anti-freeze". "If it was one of your new-fangled jets it would be out of commission for a month". "Is there a Wal-Mart close by?" You should've heard the laughter. One of the proudest military moments for me.
Gotta admit I shed a few when I heard that he had died.

There are a lot of aircraft I just love and the P-51 Mustang is sat the top, followed by the SR-71 Blackbird (talking about an aircraft that leaks ). I see a lot of personality in them. . .

I just received some updated pictures of the P51 Mustang stock fron Bc’z and I wanted to share phase two with everyone. I can not believe how good the job is turning out. A true craftsman!

He has a fondness for old millitary aircraft, and forwarded me a picture of a Red Tail.

I used to work right next to the Runway at the Bismarck Airport. A few times a year I would hear a distinctive sound of the beautiful Merlin, making its way to the end of the Runway. Sitting and idling awaiting permission for take off.. I would drop what I was doing and just sit and watch until I could not see or hear it any longer....
