6.5 PRC Lapua Brass

Just received a couple boxes of Lapua 6.5 PRC that I ordered from Whidden Gunworks last week (way cheaper than what can be got on Gunbroker). Now I just gotta get them precision tuned. To start, I've taken a bunch of measurements and thought I'd share:

Lapua Virgin Brass Measurements
Base Diameter: .528" - .529"
Above Web @ .200: .5295"
Shoulder Diameter: .511"
Neck Diameter: .292"
OAL: 2.020" (a few ranging up to 2.022)
Base to Shoulder Datum: 1.658" (very consistent)
Neck Thickness: .0147 - .0162"
Primer Pocket Depth: .122" (just a few a hair less by .0005)
Case Volume: 66.8 - 67.4 gr H2O (67.1 gr average)

Time to do some fire forming :D

Just for comparison sake could you get a overall weight on a few pieces of that Lapua 6.5 PRC brass.

I've measured both ADG and Hornady 6.5 PRC brass for volume and overall weight and length on new unfired brass.

ADG 68-68.1gr H2O (empty weight 222.8 gr =/- .5 gr) case length 2.022

Hornady 68.7gr H2O (empty case weight 218.3 gr) case length 2.020

I've added the weight to the OP. Since it was virgin brass, I mistakenly thought it wasn't important include it as it's only a small sample and going to weight them all after firing forming to cull the outliers out of any significance and also get the volume of the brass after firing.

Ok, so today I fired 10 rounds of this Lapua Virgin brass to find what the measurements are after firing and chronoed them to see how my guess, with a little help from QuickLoad, for a powder load of MagPro would do. 61.0 grs pushing Berger 140 gr Hybrids gave me an average MV of 3,014 fps, SD: not bad @ 8.5 and ES: 24 with two 5 shot groups under .5" @100 yds. (RPR with 26" factory barrel; Ambient temp: 90°F; Humidity: 57%; Wind: 0-2 mph from 7) Now I need to find a good load and tune it. :)
