I have an FFL and I am not having any issues. In VA its done electronically or at least that's the way the VA State Police prefers it to be done and its usually very fast. I have a few really good customers that drive up from NC that have CC permits too and there's are just as fast. Occasionally I will have a delay but maybe one out of 15 and within a couple of hours they are approved and on there way.I do dealer transfers for locals. Most
have a CC licenses, so there is no issues. For the
ones who don't, it's delays every time for the
call ins. Its nothing but an annoyance
to discourage buyers. There is no logical reason
for the delay, because there is no additional information
for them to ck. That info is entered as it is given to the
operator, and the response is instantaneous. The lag
in response from ATF is nothing more than harassment
for the dealer. Are the Lic holders on this board having
the same experience ???? LDS
When you get an operator on the line, they input your info right then. There is no reason for any delay. The response if any that this operator gets is immediate. I have occasions where I get passed to another operator, that's another game they play. This 2nd operator has no info other than what I gave to the first. I am well versed in the operationAt times Larry, yes. Depends on the amount of traffic they have. To few NICs examiners.
Yep. Half or more of my checks are being delayed. At first I thought it was the number of operators were too few for the massive volume the last two years. But now, after having this happen regularly and often. I think otherwise.I do dealer transfers for locals. Most

I'm sure they like it done electronically, that way there is information to store for records. I am confused by some replies on this thread saying they are going through other sources. With that being said I build a lot of rifles for an outfitter in Oregon and his FFL dealer told me that in Oregon there is typically a delay of 10-14 days sometimes longer. It seems as if it is the state is playing the games holding the info before processing.

I guess I'm confused. Either way (operator or electronic) isn't the same info entered into the NICS system (and stored)?Maybe the plot is to force dealers to the electronic ck for convenience
that way they have all the purchasers info. LDS
Thats correct to a point. With a call in they have no firearms information other than its a handgun or Long gun. Electronically they have it all if it's a duplicate of the 4473.
