MEC Marksman..back me off the ledge or push..

I'm just the opposite. I have mine next to my rock chucker and use the RC 99% of the time.
I find the primer chute is always clogging up and I don't for lack of better term like the floating shell holder.
If I wasn't so lazy I would sell it.

I have two. Really smooth and I really like the open front with really easy access.

I put in- line roller handles on mine and find i really like this set up.

I have a RC, redding big boss ii, t7, and two MEC.

prefer the T7 and MEC. All make the same quality.

Buy that guys ^

My MEC Marksman works very well, very consistent and straight with plenty of power. The only press on my bench, I’ve had many others.

I currently have a tmag turret and I am not getting real accurate seating. It seems that my coal moves .02-.03 so I am hoping to fix that issue

I'm so RCBS'd that I bleed green. I had a practically new RC supreme that one day I just got fed up with it dumping primers everywhere. I sold it off & ordered the MEC Marksman with stand, tray & extra short handle. I've been very pleased with the press overall. I've never had it not catch a primer or get clogged(?) I don't like the chinchy little plastic catch tray which is not up in quality to the rest of the system. The add-on tray was a waste of money too. First time I used it with some bullets in it & of course I bumped it & they went everywhere. I drilled & tapped the base so I could mount it solid with a thumb-screw. The short handle was a waste too. The standard handle is more comfortable & requires less effort. Besides changing handles is not totally trivial with a lock-nut & all. Don't consider buying the Marksman without the stand. I my opinion it should come with it & the price & packaging should be adjusted accordingly. The floating shell holder is great for rifle rounds & I'm sure helps alignment & overall concentricity. But I must admit sometimes its a pain when I get in a hurry loading handgun rounds. If you pull the load round away fast the shell holder may end up pointing the wrong direction & you have to hunt to slip the next case in. I've been thinking about machining some brass rings that would slip on a shell holder base to remove the float if I want.

With all that said, the Marksman is an awesome press. Precise, massive, smooth & you can feel it when you use! All the ammo I've loaded with it has been excellent & gauged very well using RCBS in-line seater dies. One other thing, the press does require some getting use to since its toggle is a positive stop - no cam-over bump required.

FWIW & YMMV

One thing to try is to hold pressure at end of both sizing and seating stroke for a few seconds. This should help with consistency and allow both brass and bullets to fully seat.
