Off Topic - American Flags

Not a political thread and I personally gain nothing from this, but the next time you buy a flag, consider getting one from the American Legion. Every flag they sell is made in the USA, the prices are reasonable and the proceeds advance Legion programs that help a variety of people for the common good.

We usually purchase a half dozen or so and use them as range flags at 100 yard intervals. Old Glory waving from one end of the range to the other.

Please don't get one of they off color ones like the blue ones, as much as they think they are being supportive with there cause, it is extreamly disrespectful to change the color of the flag.

I didn't see a single American flag on their website that wasn't red, white and blue. This thread isn't about what a flag should or shouldn't look like. It's about buying a flag from a good organization.

Then if they only sell Red White And Blue flags, it must be a good and informed organization.
It wasn't a slam I am just trying to make people aware and I did say please.

I was very surprised to see how many American flags at local big box type store are not made in the USA! I had to order one. Next one may well come from the Legion

Yep, I buy all of mine from the Legion site - I'm a member, so I'm helping our organization, and get great quality flags.
I get the heavy polyester flags and they last almost a year.
I have a lighted 22' pole, and in the summer fly a 4x6 US and a 3x5 state flag. On special days I replace the state with the Air Force or POW/MIA flag.
In the winter, only a 3x5 US flag so if the telescoping pole freezes and I can't lower it, less stress on the flag and pole.

Your local cub scouts will do it for you. It teaches them the correct way to do it

I dropped off 3 to a couple of scouts that are working on their Eagle Scout ranking.
They made a drop off box to give to Veterans of Foreign War lodge for the flag burning on Memorial Day.
