Bullet Pullers

That's really neat! I have a kinetic bullet puller and a collet type, and this looks better'n either of them. Quiet, quick, no bullet damage and avoids contaminating the powder. Maybe I'll have to add a third one!

If you've got an RCBS puller and a CoAx, this handle from mcmaster-carr works great.

That thing is slicker 'n snake snot. Just ordered one. Thanks.

I used to have a hammer type puller but it was more trouble than it was worth. Since co-ax is my main press, pliers work for small jobs. An RCBS collet puller on another press is preferred for larger jobs. The handle above should save bullets when I'm too lazy to change presses.

What's the best bullet puller out there? Want something that will let me reuse the bullets but be fairly quick to use. How is the Hornady cam-lock?

Moderators- can you move to reloading forum?
I have the hornady collet puller and Rcbs hammer type puller.
Hornady collet is light years better.

I'm a kinetic puller as well; but there's a physics trick to improve their efficiency.

Get a hard-plastic hammer to use with your kinetic puller. Swing both hammers and strike the impact faces together and the kinetic bullet puller is MUCH easier to use.

I'd switch to a collet type puller if I had ~50+ to pull.

Just a heads up, I have seen kinetic pullers knock the primer compound out from
the primer and mix it in the powder.
Begs the question- how many get misfires from firing large capacity rounds from a light-weight magazined rifle, revolver, or pistol- i.e. .338 Lapua, .460 Weatherby, .454 Casull etc.?

I've had a RCBS collet type puller for years & have collets for many caliber. It's a pain to use but works well. I've also have an inertial hammer type which is my 2nd one (I beat the 1st one to death). The choice of which to use comes down to why you are pulling bullets. If it's just pulling a few low volume mistakes the inertia is the best & will also cause the least damage to bullets. If you are pulling a bunch, like disassembling surplus rounds, the press/collet type is best. BTW, the inertia type is great if you just want to adjust seating depth & you'd like to re-seat out a bit longer.

Long answer made short, you need both. The off-brand inertia types are cheap & work just as good as any!

Ordered this at 1PM yesterday & it was on my doorstep this afternoon. It works great too.

I'm with pertnear above.

RCBS collets, but would be lost without an inertia hammer. You can,and will, use both.

3X3X3" cube of steel is what I use as an "anvil". Works great.

This is the way I do them, when you get a rhythm going you can do a lot of them in a short time.
Make sure you use a cable cutter and not side cutters aka dykes, it's a very smooth operation and the cable cutters leave only two of the smallest marks on the bullet, "nothing that the rifling won't smooth out"and if the bullets have that seating line in them even better, it has not affected accuracy at all When I have reused them. If the marks are deep you are putting to much force on the cable cutters, it does not take much to hold them in place, they arm on the press does all the work. If the bullet has a detent or what ever it is called then it doesn't even leave a mark. For those curious about the round in the pic it is a 6mm WSM it has a pet name Mr Nasty.LOL it shoots 105gr and 107s at 4000fps plus and 55g 5000fps plus.

PS: This has always worked for me your millage may vary.

I picked up a PMA puller on his Christmas sale. Haven't used it yet, but should remove bullets with minimal effort, and very minor damage to the bullet.
