USPS Complaint Thread

So I sold some primed brass to a member at another forum. He mailed a M.O. after the holiday and I yet to receive it. I'm not waiting on pins and needles for the money I just hate to see him have to file a claim in case it was lost or worse yet stolen. This is the first time I've been really late getting some mail from someone. I'm sure it's more frustrating for him than me. Rant off.

You paid for a service. They have not delivered, you should rant. You should rant to your Congressman and Senator, we elect them to oversee the government entities and they most often do not do a good job. Now comes my question. Why for the most part do we keep voting them back into office. Forget parties, let's get folks who will represent us and do the job we elected them to do. Ok, my rant is over.

Had the same problem, ... around the same time. Finally cancelled the check and sent another via "Express Mail" which he got promptly. Of course, the cancelled check arrived shortly thereafter. Cost me an additional $25.

That's one case of beer I don't get to recycle towards the USPS!

Believe there is an online resource to verify authenticity of a PMO and if cashed. Hope they saved the stub and the receipt.

The buyer needs to get to the bottom of this.......

I read yesterday that the House was grilling the head of the Post Office. His basic response was, "It was broke when I got here and my only choice going forward was to break it beyond repair, then rebuild it better." Only a bureaucrat can think that makes sense. In the mean time the whole country is imploding, so as Hillary says, "What difference does it make?"

EXACTLY!! Me thinks some situations are bigger than expected.
3 weeks for a Flat Rate Priority Mail box to get from Ca. to MN.
(that's with 3 trips back and forth between the SF distribution center and St. Paul center)
It FINALLY got stopped and re routed in St Paul.
And the worst part? No frequent flyer miles.

Agreed
The buyer needs to fix this. If you send the brass and you never get paid, you won't be happy and it won't be the fault of the USPS
Agree! Back before Christmas I bought a rifle from a very nice guy here on the board. Sent him a check on Monday, sent him a picture of the envelope and check, Tues he sent me the rifle. I get the rifle on Fri and he's got no check,he says give it a day or two more, I check with him every day and still no check. It's my fault, I had a cranial rectal inversion and didn't register the letter with the check. Fri I tell him I know how to fix this, sent him another check registered mail, embarrassed hell out of me and sure enough next mon or Tues he gets both checks. But it was my responsibility to take care of him... John

I got the same thing going on with Fedex ... a 2 day package that's been traveling around for two weeks and only gets scanned about every 4 days and in distribution centers that make zero logistical sense that move further away from the destination. Always says delivery pending and no status available. Can't talk to them on the phone and the virtual assistant is absolutely worthless.

Has to be people ... computer systems are not his incompetent

Edited: Rant off

I've been waiting on a small flat rate Priority Mail box that was mailed on Feb 17 from Reno. That's the day it was scanned into their system. Since then, nothing. What can the seller do? What can I (the buyer) do? Play Tom Petty, and remember that "the waiting is the hardest part". It's a 1/2 mile walk to our mailbox, so if I go out there twice a day to check, I'm at least getting some exercise. Right now, our PO is only delivering every-other day, because of the snow/ice last week. The new normal is not good.

Great idea, let's continue down the same road with band-aids and eventually we'll bleed to death. Freaking genius!

Over the holidays I had a 45 day delivery. Frustrating for both parties but I'd deal with that for the next year or three to fix the USPS.

Unless MAJOR changes are made "First Class" mail, including voting ballots, will come via Amazon Prime! Is that what you want? Let's have Bezos control even more.... Perfect.

So here is one more reason not to use a m.o. They sell it to me, they sell me the stamp, I hand it back to them to deliver it, they lose it and want more money! Please people just write a check!

I just went through postal purgatory.
With the help of my postmaster and recieving party everything came out good.
3 weeks of not knowing sucked.
Have the recieving party file a
ECC.
Electronic Consumer Complaint
They have 24 hours to respond to complaint as per my post master.
Richmond Va. sort facility had my stalled package delivered the day after complaint was filed.
Agian ECC has to be filed by the receiver, not the shipper.

The trailers of ballots have been emptied, only issue are the private contractors who swore out affidavits against postal officials. Those would have had to be replaced, New contacts awarded, all take time. It will be worse in 2024.

I have a crazy USPS story.

Sent a registered return receipt letter to our second home in the country addressed to the two owners ago deceased owner.

She gave a car to the previous owner that we acquired the home from.

DMV would be mailed the sealed undeliverable letter and issue us a tittle for the vehicle.

The letter is sent and a few weeks later USPS informed delivery service shows a picture of the letter being returned to me with other mail for that days mail delivery.

Except it never gets delivered.

Go to the post office complain, they tell me to go online and start a mail search and I do.

After a month of nothing we decide it would be better to just sent another letter and we send registered return receipt letter number two.

Well as madness rules, letter number two gets lost. It made it to the small post office in the country they
attempted delivery and sent it back to us but we never received it.

The wife and me were livid, we were like screw getting a title for the car in the barn.

4 months later we get both letters.

I have had horrible service from USPS. Summer before last I bought a rifle from a guy in Colorado and sent a $1600 cashiers check via registered mail. All went well with the tracking for about three days, then the updates would say "in transit to destination". This went on for three weeks, my local po tried to help but there was really nothing they could do. Finally I had the check stopped and got another, this one I shipped three day FEDEX. It arrived in two days, the same day the original check arrived.

The seller put the original check in the package with the rifle. When I opened the box the envelope the check was in was in a clear sealed plastic bag. The envelope was for a full size sheet of paper and one corner, about 1/4 of the envelope was missing. The letter size envelope with the check was inside and it to had a corner missing. Part of the check was missing too, with most of the routing numbers being gone. When I took the package to the po my post master looked at it and said she didn't see why it couldn't be cashed. Really? you think they could cash a check with the routing numbers missing? She just smiled. Idiot!

This little ordeal cost me over $50 extra. I have to send out a $1200 money orders today and you can bet your butt it won't go usps.

Sir, I believe you sent a certified letter, not a registered letter.
