I was able to get out yesterday finally after a week , everything is about normal today exept we are in the same boat with the grocery store and gas stations... Hopefully it won't take long to restock.... Your dogs are exactly like the one I had for 13 years we lost him two years ago... I showed my wife your picture and I thought she was going to cry.... What kind of dogs are those.??? We think ours was a catahoola lab mix...

I know what you mean I’m getting old too you saw me confronting my recliner with both dogs on my lap LOL. I’ve had several dogs in the past that were gun shy for no reason just did not like the noise these two here when I grab my 22 to take care of pests in the yard they are so excited to see that rifle and want to go out with me

We have an all electric house in an all electric area, but nobody I know of uses electric baseboard heating here. Our current house in San Antonio has two heat pump systems, R-410 refrigerant in both, one with additional stage electric heat coils similar to an electric clothes dryer as well downstream of the blower. All our other houses in Texas and Louisiana had simple central air conditioning with electric heating coils doensyream of the blower as the sole source of home heating. Newer subdivisions don't have any municipal natural gas piping.

Having said that, we've never seen a monthly winter heating bill over $150 for a 3,000+ square foot 2 story house. Until October 2019 our upstairs system was an old conventional central air conditioning unit using R-22 with electric heating coils downstream of the blower, but when it went belly up it was a no brainer to replace that system with the R-22 phaseout, so we replaced it with a heat pump system that had additional cooling (and therefore heating) capacity, with some additional heat coils just in case, which served us well when the downstairs heat pump tripped off for a while.

We were without power for about 36 hours, our house interior dropped to 50°F inside and maintained that, day & night, until power was restored with ambient temperatures in the 20's F so we made it OK thus far.

My house is 2300 Sq Ft. It is heated and cooled by electricity. We do have natural gas hot water and stove.
The house is three years old and very well insulated. My budget bill is $140/month. At this point they owe me about $200 but that will level out some with the cold temps the last week or so.
Spire Gas bill is $21 on average. I will not complain about that.
Total electric, gas, water, and internet for right at $250/month. That da$n Direct TV is another $200!

“Biden admin ordered ERCOT to throttle energy output by forcing it to comply with environmental green energy standards, knowing full well Texans could freeze to death in their homes with zero electricity as temperatures plunged into the single digits.”
