Them Ugly Guns.

When I first saw my first AR I figured this ain't gona last long. Guess what? It did and I am about to take the plung. Whittled it down to the S&W MP 10 in 308. My question, Has anyone ever put a double set trigger in one? Be gentle with me. I'm new here and am eighty years old. I do have some history with the shooting sports. Navy 3rd in rifle and 2 with the 45. All navy team. But--- them ugly sticks I don't know anything but what I've read. So looking forward to your comments.

P.S.1000 yds 0ut of the box ???

Not aware of any double set triggers for the AR-10 or AR-15 platforms.
1000 yards out of the box, I really don't think so.

What is the primary purpose of this AR?
You can get a reliable trigger to 1.5 lbs.

Spend a couple hundred more and get a better rifle that won't need upgrades of any kind: https://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=96

Look around on their site they have other calibers you may be interested in.

If for some odd reason you find this less than satisfying you will be able to get your money back out of it and build a custom AR with match barrel. RR hold their value and are not to hard to sell.

Dog Gone !! I went on that site and now am cornfuzed! That, LARS 8 in 308 looks good.
Any one have any more help on that unit??

6 months is not long for a quality rifle. I don't get any kick-backs for promoting RRA, but if I was going to buy an "off the shelf AR" there would be no other choice for me. Some things are worth the wait, especially if you hang on to your weapons.

There is also nothing wrong with a S&W MP 10. It just comes down to what is worth it to you.
Thinking about it would love to order that lars 8 but keep going back to that MP 10. I have found a lot of positive revues on that gun but one thing makes me want the LARS 8. Comes stock with double set trigger. Old shakey me needs all the help I can get .; Be 80 in april.

I have switched over to the JP silent capture buffer spring. Kind of pricey but I like it. No more twang. No buffer retainer to deal with on removal. You can easily change the buffer weight if needed.
