That was my understanding also but at one time they must have made some 9 twist barrels, I actually found this blank on ebay. If you look around you will find places that have sold them, but I don't think they are in stock anymore.

Proof sometimes will do special runs of lengths and calibers with twist rates they don't offer to the general public for some of their dealers.

I know Evolved Ballistics has had Proof CF barrels on the shelf ready to buy in certain calibers with twist rates and lengths Proof wouldn't even let me order.

@B23 now you got me thinking... and its probably going to drain my rainy day fund some more....

It would be awesome to have a Proof 20 cal bbl on a predator rifle in a weight for long walks and climbs for those educated nocturnal coyotes that won’t come close....

If this rig could have a fast twist to stabilize those rare heavy bullets like the 55 gr, it would extend the reach with those clean BCs and the efficiency of the 204 Ruger.

Just daydreaming....

Every time I think about making a fast twist in 20, I hesitate due to rarely seeing bullets. I know Grafs will have the Berger 55s every now and then, but that is the cause of my hesitation and I end up at the 40 VMax and Sierra 39 again. Not that those are anything to complain about. I just really fell hard for the 20s once I opened my eyes to their performance. I really wish they were more commonly found in twists for high BC 55 and 60 grain p-dog and coyote bullets.

Supposedly at the moment Berger has agreed that every Sep they will produce a run of the 55 HPBT and it looks as though Grafs is the vendor. How long that will stay in place who knows.

I have been hesitant on doing anything with the 55 or 57 VLD as there’s only one source and it’s such a niche bullet. Same thing with the 60 or 64 grain SP.

Moral to that story is to buy enough bullets to wear out the barrel before you order the barrel. I can't tell you how many times I've seen rifles that were rendered useless because a specific bullet went off the market.

I don't know what the BC is on those 60's but they don't look very sleek at all and appear to have a very long bearing surface. The Berger 55's look like a tall thin runway model those 60's kind of look like my friends fat sister. Other than just being 60gr what would they be good for?
