My China Virus Test "NEGATIVE"

I spent a total of 8 hours in the truck. 4 hours in the deer stand and all weekend in the travel trailer at the deer lease with my 16 year old son. Saturday evening when he came back from the stand he said he wasn't feeling good and he was just fine when he went out that afternoon. We did hunt together that morning. I wanted him to shoot a cull that I have been seeing and was a no show that morning. He hunted his stand that evening. Sunday morning we didn't go to the stand and came home early. We both went that evening for covid test. The quick tests were both negative and we got the 24 hr test where they stick that thing up your nose to your brain. You sure don't stick your finger in your nose that far. So, Monday I get a phone call I'm negative and he is positive. I told him he passed his covid test. So far he says the worst thing is his throat is on fire and he is running 99.3 temp. We are all on lock down. And we will be having Christmas to ourselves, which earlier I told my wife that probably would be a good idea anyways before this happened. He feels bad about the Christmas and not seeing his grandparents. I told him you cant help if you get a virus. Then come find out my brother in law and sister in law both have it also, which we haven't been around. And the worst symptom they have is sore throat also. So far I feel ok and so does my daughter and my wife. I figured I would be sick by now. But it seems to come on really fast from what I saw with my son and what my brother in law and sister in law have said also. I guess he got it from school. Friday was his last day before Christmas vacation.

I have tested negative 4 times, but the last couple of days my throat is killing me, probably will go get tested again. Crap.

I think I had it about this time last year, my symptoms lasted for about three weeks, my wife's about six weeks. I had all the symptoms loss of taste, sense of smell, mild headache, lingering congestion in the upper portion of my lungs, a cough that lasted through the duration of the malady. After about the three week point I went to the doctor and he put me on prednisone (steroid). A few days later most all the symptoms went away except for sense of taste, that took about six weeks to recover. Now I have what was supposed to be an after the fact symptom, my hair line is receding and I'm getting thinner on top. I saw the Doc a couple of weeks back and asked if he thought that what I had was Covid-19, he said it's possible but with an expensive anti-body test, there's no way to know for sure.

Got it the same time as a bunch of family members, all middle aged and healthy.

I’d been taking zinc by the handful, my wife regularly, other family members not at all.

My case was ridiculously mild. Loss of taste and smell and 2pm wall of mental fog.

My wife was hit harder with extreme fatigue plus’s my symptoms.

Non zinc family members were knocked down hard with my symptoms, plus my wife’s, plus’s difficulty breathing, intense flu aches and high persistent fevers.

Take it for what you will. Glad to have it behind me.

Butch I'm happy you are doing better. Now comes the work to get back in shape. As a nurse we figured for every bedfast day it took a week to recover. So don't push it, but put in the work. Take care.

Had it. Was nothing! I've had worse hangovers. I'm 62 years old and in pretty good shape. Lost taste and smell for about 2 days. Wife had it too, but no more worse symptoms than I. Neither one of us ever had temperature over 99. Not to make light of this. Just our experience and glad to get it and have it over with. Eventually we will all have it is my opinion. Sorry to hear you had a rougher time of it Butch. Hoping you and your wife come out of this as if never happened. Glad you are doing well.

I have been told by several people that are in the medical field that the quick test are not worth a crap and don't know why they are even given. I thought whatever, they wouldn't have them out if they were that unreliable. But after my son had a negative quick test and then the 24 hr test that the doc said is the "real deal" (the one that sucks getting) was positive maybe there is something to that. My brother in law's quick test was positive and he had the same symptoms as my son's and his test was given at the same place at the same time. I'm going to take another test on Saturday if I'm not showing any symptoms, that will be a week after exposure. Like Ib-ft said thank you "Commy Gina" I mean China... Sh*t Heads. I got a lot of stuff going at work I need to be doing and I'm stuck at home. I can do office stuff at home, no problem but, I need to be in the field checking on jobs and help trouble shooting as well. We have a lot of boiler work going on right now at several hospitals around DFW.

I am also tired of folks disagreeing with science. They are not the ones who suffer. The ones who suffer are the people that cannot get treatment due to hospitals running out of beds from something preventable. Call it what you will.
