Smokeless Muzzle Loader

This is the first one of these I ever built, These things will shoot. Rem 700 action, Trigger tech trigger, Brux barrel, Manners stock, and a sightron on top. Hanks ignition system. Average vel. for 10 shots was 2814 fps with a 303gr. pitman bullet with 70gr. of H4198. Shot 7 shots doing a little break in and sighting in scope, then shot a 3 shot group at 100yds.

What contour barrel and twist did you go with?Length? Type brake?

Definitely a shooter. Is it braked and if so, which one? If not, 70 grains of 4198, kills on one end and maims on the other.

Very cool set up. Looks like a shooter for sure. I am amazed at the ballistics that are achievable in some of these smokeless ml setups

Recoil about like a 7mag, but very manageable. It is a Brux 6 contour 20 tw 25” long with a hanks break

Lance is my cousin and has build several Guns for me , He has been doing my BR Barrels and He is very knowledgeable and I’m very satisfied with his work ! His stuff just flat out shoots, He knows is way around his lathe and mill and I think of him as my Brother,his Friendship is priceless !

I have been shooting a smokeless Savage ML I for years (18-20). I bought a Rem Ultimate about 4 years ago with the intention of sending it to hankins.
Like others have said, its amazing what they do with ML's these days. I may be wrong but I believe Hankins can get a 300 gr to 3,500+fps. I am just going to pull the trigger and send it in.
My buddy bought a CVA and had Hankins (my suggestion) work his magic. He now has a 300 yd ML for less then $1,000 all in.
