What is the "Reaction Score"?

Good day,

When you hover your cursor over a member's screen name, information about the member will open up. One of the items listed is the "Reaction Score". This appears to be a numerical value, but what does it mean?

I believe reaction score is the old "likes"

At the end of the day, it not really about the likes, but it does give a possibly false sense that I am not to far off the reservation.

Better than reaction score would be Reaction score/ # of Posts : Ratio
Might better reward the poster

I am not sure what it represents, but it must be useful for the modulators or site owner/s.
