9mm hand gun for Concealed Carry?

No we cannot.
It's too personal preference. What i carry, you may not like.
We have all tried different things, and end up tailoring them to ourselves.

I will suggest staying away from military surplus pistols. They tend to be less than ideal for concealed carry. Especially in this day & age of the specialty concealed carry market.

A very good thread here, it shows just how well we can all find a way to protect ourselves even though we are all different in stature. And yes shot placement will be the deciding factor if you must use it to save yourself or someone else. Larger is better when possible.

Three things
1. Can you grip the weapon properly
2. Can you shoot the weapon accurately and can you manage the recoil of a smaller weapon ie 9mm vs 380 or any other caliber
3. The key word CONCEALED don’t televise to everyone that have a weapon.

CZ p10S. Imagine a 90% scale of a g19 with superior ergonomics and a much better trigger and physically tougher with better factory sights for less money. It’s a sweetheart of a EDC pistol. I only have one 9mm pistol. I’ve carried it since July and it’s the best I’ve ever had. Better than my P320c. Better than my p-07. Better than any of my Glocks were. It’s been 100% out of the box with zero malfunctions that weren’t the fault of my poor handloads. (Too long for the Accura 147s.)

Go down to a good gun store, check and handle various models and find one that feels the most comfortable too YOU, and with in the price you want to or can pay. Get it, and then take instruction and/or go to a good range and practice with it. If you have shot handguns before you know what too do. If this is your first, then get some instruction at a gun course/class.

Whatever you decide on make sure it’s reliable , you shoot it well and practice. Probably the most important and sometimes overlooked.
Add, aware of your surroundings.

My extra 2 cents, is for my Browning Hi-Power.

The small cute pistols are wonderful to carry if you can hold on to them to shoot with the accuracy you require. As I aged and developed arthritis in my hands the P938 was accurate but after 2-3 magazines my hand hurt for a week, essentially causing further damage. Larger grip, more weight was/is better for my hand at a sacrifice to concealability. The Kaar felt great, shot great and carried great. My thumb kept hitting the mag release. It is a very personal thing. I suggest you shoot as many as you can, and at a well stocked dealer (harder to find now) try as many as you can in your belt to see and feel how it will carry and conceal......tell the salesman what you are doing first!!!
Do not skimp on quality leather/holsters and heavy belt. 1.25" minimum with a suit, 1.5" for everyday.....dependent on size & weight. Some very interesting composite and synthetic systems being offered today.

S&W Shield 9mm $249 to $269 traditionally twice a year from a store that rhymes with portabella. PSA freq. sells it for $249 as well.

You get one 7rd and one 8rd magazine. Compact, have thousands of rounds through mine and never can count the number of failure to feed issues I have had on one hand. Single stack so it fits hands well from little petite women to 6 foot 1 269lbs. me!

It is not a range gun, competition gun, family heirloom. In fact I got my oldest son his first concealed carry gun and that is what it is.

It is very accurate. Down side trigger is not the best trigger in the world. It is not the worst. The other downside it is plastic.

If all you want is a fantastic carry weapon it is FANTASTIC for that. People put them down because they are cheap and do not have tactical gimmicks but those add bulk and cost. but as a carry weapon they are almost perfect. Better sights and better trigger would make them perfect.

A tactical gun is not a carry gun. A work gun is not a carry gun. A go to war gun is not a carry gun. A full size all steel gun with rail is not a carry gun. A race gun is not a carry gun.

Trust me I hate plastic guns I especialy think anyone paying $500+ for a gun that is as much plastic as steel is a fool. I am sure some people will run off to a safe space or crying closet because I said that or will pour some hate my way but I do not care a bit. For under $300 though all that matters is if it works every time you pull the trigger and is a joy to carry concealed. My recommendation is both.
