25 Boomer

I recently acquired a Mini-30 that has the barrel stamped 25x39. There was an RCBS die set with the rifle that was labeled 25 Boomer. The previous owner is deceased and no one in his family knows anything about this rifle. Can anyone provide any info such as load data, case resizing dimensions, or any other info. that might help me to get started on loading some ammo for this rifle.

anyone ever wildcat a 7.62x39

just wondering if anyone has ever necked one of these down to a 22 cal or even 20 cal? lee

The 39 suggest it is the 7.62 x 39 AK round necked down to 25 caliber...as to whether it keeps the same shoulder angle and body taper could be ascertained with a cerosafe casting of the chamber.

I’d cast the chamber. Then run a well lubed case thru the die and compare the two. That should answer some questions.

Maybe contact RCBS ? If they made the dies there could be a drawing . Casting the chamber is best , that will be easy to tell what you have . It could be as simple as running 7.62 x 39 into the boomer die .

You might contact Accuracy Systems in Byers Colorado or,

Accuracy Rifle Systems in Odessa Tx. Both companies do/did Mini 14/30 conversions. I read something years back about the 25x39 and I think that Accuracy Rifle Systems was the one that was doing it. I am not sure if ARS in Odessa is still in business.

I get the 7.53x39 cases resized down to 257 ok but cant seam to get the Nosler bullets seated without crushing the case neck down into tohe case.. I've ordered a nech turning mandrel for my trimmer but thought I wouldask anyone here if they had any similar experience and advice while I wait for...
