Scope recommendation

I am asking you BR shooters for a scope recommendation.
I currently have a March variable power scope. I like it fine, but would like a fixed power scope for my 6PPC.
I will be shooting from 100 yds. to 400 yds. What power would you recommend and it doesn't have to be a March.
I am open to any top quality optic.
I am thinking a 42x, but will listen to the experts on this one.
Thanks, Mike

Weaver T36 or T42 the 42 is hard to find. Just my two cents Tommy Mc

IME- A March 48X High Master is the best glass available. Downside is, you'd better have very good eyes to go along with the glass if you are shooting 3 & 400. I had to give up on the 48x with a .224 bullet at 300. I just couldn't see the holes. It is still the nest IMO.

Depends on your budget and preferences and eye age Also what you can use and make LV weight. For me, two of the Weaver 36x that I have owned had glass as clear as my 48x Highmaster. The Sightron 45x45 ED is a great scope at the price point and will not disappoint.
The reticle in the Weaver 46x48 is fine. If you have old eyes, get one with the dot. Again, a very nice scope for the price.
I have owned two Leupold 36x. Both have great glass and held zero. Nice scopes also.
I have not used a Nightforce or Valdada but am sure they are solid as well. The March 48x Highmaster would be my first choice but I am not concerned or fill handicapped using the Sightron.

I use the March fixed 50 here in Pa. that was suggested to me by Jim Borden. If I was going to get one now it would be the fixed 42 you mentioned.

Regards
Rick

I have the NF 15x55 on my rifles.
I've been seeing spotting scopes on some benches at ibs 1,2 &300 yds.
Don't know the rules on ubr or long range.

The Valdada‘s are great, hold POI well. But, are a tad heavy If you are building a 10.5 pound Rifle that includes a tuner.
I now have March High Master 48’s on my light and Heavy Varmint 6PPC’s as well as my 30BR VFS Rifle.
