Hi gang, I need a pair of glasses ,that are safety rated and 1.75 in the whole eye piece. If such an animal exists. I have searched it and all I can find are Bifocal safety glasses. So if anyone has a suggestion or can help, please do and as always thanks in advance.

I found a pair of 1.5 for the whole lens on Amazon last week. They are safety glasses that I use for work. I think you could chose other power lenses as well. Type in 1.75 safety glasses in the search bar and they should come up. Hope this helps.

Suggest you wear a contact lens and then you can get by with $15 z87 safety lenses. Good soft contacts are cheap these days. I think i paid $70 for 6 pairs -1.75 Rx.

Thank you all for the responses. It`s nice to have friends you`ve never met. I will look at all the options you gave me.Have a great day and good shooting. Jeff

I just bought some bifocal shooting glasses from Dillion. Haven't used them yet. Hoping that the bifocals let me see the settings and the no power lenses will let me see the reticle. We will see.
You can,of course, go to your eye doc and get what you want. That gets expensive.

You can also get prescription safety glasses. Guys at work go to lensecrafters for them. I got lasik. Worth every penny.

I wear bifocals and they are a PITA for up close work like using a computer monitor. I got tired of tipping my head back, so I went to Wally World optical and had them get me some glasses with the whole lenses made to the bifocal part of the prescription. Perfecto.

I just have my eye doc spec me up a pair. Tell him any additional power and where I need the focal point at. Got one pair for rifle and another for pistol.

i used decot for years shooting trap. Now using pilla glasses. Be sure if you order decot you specify you need shatter proof lenses for shooting. Their standard lenses are, if I remember correctly, is made from cr 69 material. They have other materials that are more shatter resistant.

Edit: I checked and the lens is cr 39. They are impact resistant but not shatter proof. As per their site you have to specify shatter proof.

Yep, I think you need poly carbonate lenses.

Im a pilla and wiley x kinda guy
Just got the pilla outlaw x6 series this year for trapshooting and can't believe the clarity of the lenses. Absolutely the best I've used so far and I've tried decot, ranger and some others. The nice thing about the pillas is if you have to use a prescription, its an insert that fits into the bridge piece. This way, when you have to change prescriptions you don't have multiple colors of lenses to replace. Their a bit more initially but in the long run you save money.

And they look good. The decots ive seen were so ugly and heavy they are unwearable

Tactical Rx and its parent company Sports Optical is a family and veteran-owned company, owned and operated by Master Optician Bret Hunter.

Denver located and none better in the whole United States. For ultimate protection they can make glasses that will still be standing when the head is gone but that's a little bit of overkill.

I've worn Decots for years and liked Bud Decot and when Ray Ban was still Bausch and Lomb the bullet hole Decot pattern was nice but Tactical Rx is a cut above in both protection and options. Though I'd say, at least for those of a certain age the Decots are stylish - Gloria Steinem wore them as fashion glasses but that was long ago.

If you have optical insurance you can get a pair that way. Most opticians are mechanics, find one that is a scientist. Mine helped me navigate the insurance and was spot on for my shooting needs, even though I don't need prescription glasses for day to day life. I have a slight astigmatism and the for the second year pair I went with a prescription from an Ophthalmologist friend to correct that. My red dots went from egg shaped to round. It didn't improve my scores but it is one less thought to navigate under stress.

I used to have a set of bifocal "computer glasses" with arm's reach focus on the top and near focus on the bottom. I used them for several years until I found progressives I could accommodate to. I had to try 3 or 4 progressives until the optician changed something (base curvature) and just like that, it worked. Instant accommodation.

Having had to wear glasses every waking moment since I was 12, I get a secret joy in telling everyone with 20/20 vision that they'll have to wear eye protection whenever they're on the range.
