No shoulder bump

Ok,

It looks like you need to go to your settings and then Alert Preferences to set up Alerts.
I must of done this a long time ago and forgotten.

I did that, I click on watch thread, it still doesn’t notify me most of the time. The software is buggy.

Redding FL die. I am getting zero shoulder bump no matter what.

1x fired cases chamber just fine. Bolt closes nicely....which I don't think should be the case ..?

Haven't ran into this before. Thanx!

It sounds like you have a resizing die that's very close to a perfect match to your chamber.

Keep reloading and shooting your cases and see if you get any resistance closing the bolt.

If you do start to get resistance closing the bolt you can lap .001 or .002 off the top of the shell holder.

Below your sizing die could be bumping the shoulder back to the red dotted line. And since the case springs back after firing your cartridge headspace is still shorter than the chamber.

If your die was pushing the shoulder back to the green dotted you would be complaining about case head seperations.

P.S. You might want to contact F. Guffey about your problem.

They posted a cartoon illustration claiming the shoulder is moved back when sized; I claim it is impossible to move the shoulder back with a die that has full case body support. And sure enough the claims department posted the cartoon.

You may be right. But, whose software, the forum's or yours? (Clue: No one else here seems to experience the bug.)

You’ve obviously made up your mind, but I don’t see how anything on the client side could be responsible for this behavior.

That's been apparent for some time. I don't know exactly what's causing your issue, but I do know how to apply Occam's razor in a process of eliminating the most unlikely explanations first. Over twenty years as a software and network systems engineer.

If you can shoot a one hole 5 shot group with the perfect group then making adjustments in .001 then I would go down that rabbit hole . I was shooting next to a guy going on a hunt in Africa with a 300 win mag , he was zeroing at 100 yards , when he came back with the framed backstop for the target and said I'm there , not one bullet the target but all ten rounds were on the 3 x 4' backstop . He said I'm going for big game . I didn't say a word except good luck. I don't think he was a reloader. It's good talking with old friends from another forum.

I once worked with a guy who drew a coveted NV antelope tag, and wanted advice on how to proceed. He had his dad's old 30-06 with a scope. I asked him how he had it sighted in. "Oh, it don't need it, it's always shot just fine." How long had it been since he tried to hit anything with it? "Oh, years and years. I've been dragging it around with me from town to town a long time." Would he please allow me to take it out and sight it in with him? "Nope, I'm just going hunting, thanks just the same." At work the next week I asked him how he had done. Looking sheepish, he said "Well, I should have listened to you. I shot up a box of ammo at several antelope fairly close by, and never so much as scared one. I have no idea where those bullets landed."

There out there , wouldn't want to be in the same woods. I just remember , a new shooter was having problems sighting in a asked hfor help . When I looked through his scope , he had the scope set up when looking through it looked like an X , it made me laugh , sorry. Did you set this up. He was pretty new and I'll give him two points for trying.
