Great shoot. Now you have my wheels turning. How many shots?Limited out this morning 183, had a good shoot, John
Exactly what they do and I do exactly what you do! Doves and ducks! Any recipe that begins with; soak for 48hrs, slice meat thinly, add thick slices of pineapple, oranges, ect is not what I call food.. JohnLooks like a great day. Love to see the kids getting involved. We stick a jalapeño in the breast, wrap it with bacon and do kabobs on the bbq. I love to open it up, eat the jalapeño and bacon. Toss the breast to the dog. I hate dove.
From the two 5 gal buckets of emptys that were picked up and the age and enthusiasm of some of the hunters I'm figuring about a10% kill ratio. I was using a 20ga 28in full choke and many of the birds were way to close for me, right off the bat two came in low and fast and I swung in my best 1990 style and while my body turned fairly well, my 75yr old legs didn't pick my feet up and I busted my ass. I shot 48rds and collected 15 birds. Not a very good showing! But we had fun.... JohnGreat shoot. Now you have my wheels turning. How many shots?
183 isn't a prime number, but the only divisors are 1, 3, and 61. My math isn't working for me?
By the way, your Alaska stories make me very envious, as does the dove shoot!!!

We have a place on the farm that we always have a lot of trouble getting winter wheat to grow. Have to plant it several times each year to ever get a stand... JohnI know that feeling. Y'all hunt in a sunflower patch?

Hmmm...I guess you've never been on a 'pass shoot' for woodcock.Morning Dove are the most missed game birds of all.
