Dividers UNITE at Manatee

It is a fact that this virus may very well be a problem for years to come. We need to make changes to the rules so the IBS can keep clubs being able to continue with their matches. i shoot IBS matches, and the some of the rules are a hard pill to swallow, keeping some shooters from attending matches. We need to make changes to comply with state or county rules in order to be able to keep the clubs open, and shooting. If IBS wants to keep doing business the same as always some clubs will have to quit shooting IBS. We need to work together to make sure we can continue shooting our matches.
At the Manatee they shoot a different format during the summer months with a large attendance, and shooters are enjoying it. It might be time to walk away from the hard nose IBS, and keep shooting our summer format. It is time for some changes. The virus is not going away according to predictions, so lets work together to come up with a solution. The summer format the Manatee shooters are shooting is looking pretty good right now. DJB

I sent an email to Jeff Stover, IBS President, a couple days ago. No acknowledgment of receipt and obviously no answer. Last time i tried there was a bit of a "run-around" but finally got some kind of an answer. That was related to a problem we had with no proof there were two shots in one hole and an alternative to handle that. They seem to pass around the question to someone that will answer it.

Trying to figure out how we can program computers to acknowledge left handers and put them together. If not, acknowledge left handers and then SKIP the use of the next bench and not assign that bench to others.

I have recently heard a couple different comments that we should pull out of the IBS because of regulations and inflexibility.

Your pandemic solution prevents you from complying with the rules. But is does allow you to comply with the LAW. Your priorities are correct. Good job!

As a county range our people administer the operation of the range according to county regulations. Violate those regulations and it is very probable they would close the range.

Simple as that.

Capt Mel Glad got everything worked out today . These are trying times for sure I’m proud of how the whole IBS organization has came together to make it work for everyone and every range .

Agree with Dave and his comments above.

Spoke with al Bennaroch and we are set on dealing with the dividers and left-handers now. As for the issue of an amendment to the rules for targets showing only 4 shots, a petition signed by 25 BS members can be done for next year before August 1st.

IBS officials were cooperative and informative.

Keep on keepin` on Capt.. Improvise, adapt, overcome. You sir,are doing that and good luck. Lead on. Jeff

I think its a great solution. If it makes management feel good then it solved the problem. Manatee is shooting, and in a state with a much higher population of higher risk people. Only a few more months and we will see a lot of the craziness go away.

Hello everyone here are 2 left handed shooters on bench 1 and 5 enjoying themself and having fun at today Manatee range match SO FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT SAID IT WOULD NOT WORK PICTURES DON’T LIE.
Thank you everyone.

Right or left-handed, the dividers worked great yesterday. We were able to do the shoot in two relays instead of the three to four that would be needed if we did not have them.

Everyone liked the dividers and never did I hear a complaint. When the wind gusted a bit early in the shoot, I watched for any instability and even pushed on some to see what would happen.

Nothing negative to report.

Got to ask. What do you anticipate in a couple of months. We are planning to build a small local range after the first of the year that will be open to the public unless someone changes their mind. I was going to suggest dividers like these since they are simple, well thought out and operational.

How things are reported can be just as important as whats being reported. I think after the election things will calm down and restrictions will reduce. The dividers are a great way to keep shooting and help with muzzle blast, no down side to them. Great idea.
