Concerning the "Carpet Rule" and CIHPRS matches

Simple fact of the matter.....We are the customer and the NRA is our service provider. They did not serve us well. It's not personal. It's not against the ladies in the office because I know they are short staffed. It's business.

This is really the bottom line. I appreciate the NRA and all they've done for RKBA and the shooting sports. But their service for the competitive shooting sports has been in a downward spiral for a while now and other providers are much more customer friendly.

Time for unsatisfied customers to vote with their feet (and wallets.)

Yeah, you're right. Here in the good old USA it's equil opportunity for anyone to remove all doubt.
Not sure of your problem, but I didn`t think I should be censored from the discussion because I don`t shoot that disipline. I`m just saying that there is always two sides or opinions to the story. I won`t get into a Pizzing match with you, so I`m done. Jeff

I was just agreeing with your post.

And some wonder why I don't join anything.

"I don't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member." Will Rogers....
Is this about right? lol

If no guidance was given on how to measure for an infraction, then the rule was poorly written and should not be enforced because a competitor can do it at one match and be DQ'd at another.. Just my two centavos..

Every one should just shoot off a Harris bipod like God intended.. Or a sling..

I'm probably gonna regret this, but what the hell here goes.
This isn't about Mid. This isn't about the NRA. This even isn't about Matt who has worked harder than anyone I know to keep FTR as it was intended since that crazy Canadian invented it.
Bottom line is a very talented FTR shooter pushed the as written rule a little too far. God bless him. Rules are meant to be bent. He attracted the attention of not just some of the USA team members, but a whole lot of ordinary, everyday FTR shooters. I was there. I heard all about it. Most of those people didn't have the balls to call him out on it. Now the guys that did are being crucified. Is the rule vague? Maybe to some people. Not me. I thought it was clear. My carpet doesn't provide tracks.
I agree with the comment if you don't shoot FTR you don't have the right to an opinion. No more than I do about F Open or Bench rest. This whole thread is nothing more than a bunch of keyboard commandos spouting off about something they know nothing about.
We all know the NRA sucks lately. That shouldn't prevent us from improving our sport and working together to make it better.

This is what the MyPillow guy has been waiting on to get into the shooting sports. I have it on good authority he will use some special Egyptian wool to make special FTR carpet boards. Reported to track like a railgun. Should start seeing some unbelievable scores in CIHPRS matches soon. Infomercial is in the works.

... the “US” Team may be named such, but because they chose that name; it is not a mantle assigned by some official higher sanctioning body. Nothing prevents another team from adopting the same name...

Jeeezus, man!!!! Where the hell do you get your information???? You have no clue what you are talking about and instead pontificate like you actually know something about it. Stop it.

The U.S. F-T/R and F-Open Teams are sanctioned by NRA as representatives of the U.S. in international ICFRA competition.

You Keyboard High Masters are really annoying sometimes.

Well stated, Andy.

Well I never post here but feel I have Kyoto on this one. All I want to say is Andy hit the nail on the head about this issue. So lets move on and shoot.
Well done Andy.

It’s all stupid. I get what was the intention to get done but still poorly worded and still not defined.

I can use the ski type bipods in the dirt, gravel etc... and no board and create “tracks” with the bipod. The bipod wouldn’t be easily moved side to side because of that.
So is shooting off dirt with the current ski type bipods illegal? Can I protest and disqualify someone?
Rules need to be changed at times but it all must be thought out to make it right instead of satisfying one persons ego.

Warren, yes, I agree they (US teams) are our representatives sanctioned by the NRA, certainly so once entered.

Very simply and succinctly Stated , Andy . For those who don't know this Gentleman , He is like the old commercial about the brokerage firm . He doesn't say to much , nor very often . But when he speaks ...We should ALL listen . Cause he always makes good sense , and he's usually right , too .

And your point is ....? You kind of left it open-ended . Using two different statements . Just curious where you are going with it , that's all .
