For my applications I believe the fixture makes it easy for me to set up, all my receivers have the rails machined into them as one piece. So I make sure the bottom of the scope is parallel to the one piece mount and then mount it to the rail on the receiver
I do have a question, how do you mount a rail so you know it is running parallel to the center line of the bore if you screw it on
