Shooting at the range. Not that busy ?

Central Oregon this past weekend 3day Palma plus 20 at 1000 .
20 shooters plus Crew. Lots of Sun and Hot with Fancy Wind .

During the week not that many shooting.

Busier than ever here, even during bad weather and at odd times of day when I go to try to avoid crowds... More AR's and semi-auto's than before... Unsupervised, public range, free ($) to use.

The range I go to has 14 indoor pistol lanes (50ft), 12 outdoor pistol/slug lanes (12/25/50yd) and 6 100yd rifle lanes. The county regulations for reopening allowed no indoor lanes, 4 pistol lanes and 3 rifle. They're down from 32 lanes to 7, so they instituted a 2 hour time limit. Generally, there's a line of cars 10-20 deep a half hour before they open the parking lot. For pistol there's usually people on a 6 hour wait before the first shot of the day is fired.

Personally, I wouldn't be complaining about poor turnout, if that's what you're facing.

I can’t afford to shoot all factory ammo, so I reload and have been for longer than I want to admit.

You have the folks that buy in large quantities to save a little more, and they shoot a lot.

Then you have people that buy in smaller quantities on a repeated basis and talk about it.

Nothing against progressive presses, I have 4. Yet I see and hear of people that are buying progressive presses that don’t have a clue and are just getting started , many don’t own a reloading manual to boot. Imho a lot to be said for a single stage to understand what is going on.
I was taught you have to walk before you can run.
Just got a phone call from a guy with a new blue press. He had loaded 1k of ammo for his AR. Not one round would chamber. Out of the few I picked out of his box full, none would fit in my loaded case gauge. What a mess he had.
I asked if he had loaded anything else. He had a fair bit of .40 ammo that wasn’t right as well.

Went to the range this a.m. Was there at start time, 8:00. Pistol range, one Monday morning regular, an older couple rolled up for an hour of shooting, one guy on the 100 yard range and one guy on the 500 meter range, and myself. By 11:00 it was hotter than the hinges of Hades, all were gone and had all ranges to myself.
Weekends? Fuggeddaboutit! Newbies, magdumpers, jitterbugs and a sampling of really unsafe people and rule breakers.

Ours has been dead. Kind of normal though, it sits in a valley with a creek running thru it, and by this time of the summer the skeeters are aplenty. Hard to concentrate with all that coming at ya. That, along with 70+ degree few points, will keep me away for awhile, and I got plenty of ammo

Yes the game and fish range is in mayflower. Benton has a huge operation and is nice. Im a member but only go there for matches. Its really in bauxite.

Thanks. We are going to come camping when the weather cools off and start scouting the area up that way.

I belong to a small club in Ft. White Fl. Turn out for matches is down to the Hard Core. Usually 6 or less.
Heat is not the problem. If you live in Fl even N. Fl summer is long hard and hot every day.
The virus has a lot of members under the bed.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst. It is yet to come.
