2020 F-Class Nationals

There have been many people inquiring about the status of the 2020 F-Class Nationals in regards to COVID-19. As of right now the Desert Sharpshooters are moving forward with the planning of the F-Class Nationals. We are working closely with the Ben Avery Shooting Facility with what the match will look like, and we can almost guarantee the Nationals will not look like the traditional Nationals. Ben Avery Shooting Facility is an Arizona Game and Fish Commission owned facility. Because of this, all events at the facility must adhere to the Arizona Governor's guidelines. Not knowing what measures may be in place in October leaves the exact details unknown. As of right now we are developing a plan with the guidelines currently in place with the hope that things will change for the better.

Such proposed measures might include:

· Reduce the total # of entries to 180
· Use every other target for a total of 45 targets
· Only one person pulling a target
· Wearing a mask is required when 6 feet social distancing cannot be obtained
· No banquet dinners
· Award ceremony will be held each day on the firing line, with shooters in the parking lot social distancing.
· Shooters on the firing line will set up on each side of the target marker with 6 feet separating them.
· Shooters not pulling targets, scoring, or shooting must remain off of the firing line
· All scores and squadding will be posted online. Several boards will be placed around the stat office for those who do not have access to the internet, but only one person will be permitted at the board at a time.
· Refunds will be given to those that wish to not participate in the event.

Failure of individuals to follow any of the above guidelines may result in the Ben Avery Shooting Facility canceling the event without prior notice.

Thanks for the entire team at Desert Sharpshooters for doing what they do all year long... Especially for not taking the easy way out and cancelling the F-Class Nationals! Thanks for the update...

Mid,

Thanks for the up-date - good job!

And thanks to you and Matt and all the rest of the Desert Sharp Shooters for all you are doing to make a 2020 F-Class Nationals possible under these very trying and uncertain conditions - much appreciated!

Hopefully we'll have a Nationals - if we do, it will be because of all that you guys have done to make it possible

Thanks to all

Thank you for the hard work and diligence in putting up these matches. They ARE really hard work, and God help you if you interrupt Mid while he is scoring :)

Anyway, I fully plan on being there and will abide by whatever rules are in place at that time. Members of my Team Grizzly will also be there to participate in the Team matches.

Keep up the good work!

Definitely appreciate you guys trying to work through this mess and still host our Nationals. Looking forward to another great trip to Phoenix.
