22 CB CAPS

I have used both of those. I would recommend the cci quiet as well. The trajectory on those cb caps are TERRIBLE and don't retain much energy.

The slickest thing I've found is CCI Quiets with the JC Higgins model 31 that is chambered to shoot Shorts longs and long rifles, they function perfectly in this semi auto

I have shot a number of both short and long CB caps out of a Remington 511 bolt gun, around 100 total. I've killed a bunch of squirrels in my back yard with them. Close to 100. Range is around 20 to 60 feet. They work great and are quiet. I hollow point them with a Paco Kelly tool.

Grandad used the CCI "Mini Caps" as they were called, decades ago, to very good effect. Out of his 24" barreled rifle, they were pretty quiet, about like clapping your hands

Ten years ago I used a CCI CB to dispatch a squirrel eating flowers from a planter bucket. Went through varmint, passed in between my cedar fence pickets and broke my neighbors window. Being a gun owner neighbor was cool about mishap. Cost me $115.00 to get that window replaced. Could have turned out worse if anti gun neighbor called the cops. Be careful.

I also have used all types, and like most said, 40gr CCI quiet are the best IMO. Rockhound mentioned a 24 in bbl which is the key to all quiet ammo. I shoot most subsonic .22 out of a 26 in Rem 510. Out of a 4 inch pistol barrel they are as loud as a firecracker.

I use CCI quiet in my CZ 455 Scout with suppressor for my yard work. Almost no noise.

Pre-2000, I killed at least a hundred squirrels in SW Minneapolis with CB caps out of both a Ruger 22/45 a Beretta M70s. No one ever noticed as long as I only fired once.

I've used the CCI "Quiet 22" with good results. It's a LR round so should work in your pump -- as quiet as a CB cap and gives good accuracy.

I used the Remington 22 cb for a while. They are a bit louder than the CCI cb but I do like the hollow point.

I use them 99% of the time 22 cb shorts on my trap line. I use them out of revolver. But this one day I shot a with my H&R single shot. I shot a coyote in the head. Took it out started resetting trap. I got it beded covering set. I heard something turned around the coyote up setting up. Be before I could get over to my rifle coyote got into a den. It happened so fast I didnt try to shoot it with my pistol. These days if I dont think the first shot done it always gets a second. I did buy some long rifle Remington was loud. They say sub sonic on box. I use in town around house. I am a nuisance control trapper. So got have something that is quite.
